Was not!!! ....was hot as hell ....34 in Chapleau in JUNE!!!!

Hahah, yeah, it was certainly warm. The morning we left and were headed south and passed you going north on 599 I was in full sweat even with my jacked in my beer box. I saw you go past ATGATT - don't know how you do it - I think I'd stroke out from the heat lol.

I've heard strange things about Pickle Lake.

It was indeed....different.

Don't keep us in suspense, what's up with Pickle Lake? I see its the northern-most community in Ontario that is accessible year round by road. Can't be THAT weird up there....
Also, what is ATGATT?

No idea about pickle lake.

All the gear all the time.

Reading the replies......

Whoa, you guys are really something!

I got my bike beginning of April, have been riding and practising alone almost everyday except for snowy/rainy days. 1,400km so far. Love it every time going for a ride....sometimes laughing under my helmet.... completely in my world

Didnt go on highway much because I dislike the strong wind..... pulling me all directions!!!

ATGATT - All The Gear All The Time.

I try, but once it gets above 30 (or earlier with humidity) I have to admit I start shedding gear. It beats passing out and wrecking because I overheat.

As for Pickle Lake, it's a one horse town. Normally lots of high spending tourists I gathered head up there to go fishing (or to hop on a plane up there and go even further north to super remote lakes) but with Covid last summer most of that wasn't happening. So it was a bunch of MNR people, and the locals.

The whole allure was that it was the furthest north you can go in Ontario while still on Asphalt. Only when we got pulled over by the OPP a few KM south of town on the way in (That's another story) did we find out that they paved it another 40km or something like that.

Given the insanely hot temps we never did get truly to "the end of the road" as riding 80 more km just to get a picture at the point the road goes from asphalt to dirt wasn't worth it. So we got the photo at the sign and headed south.

I did ~1900km in 21 hours non stop one time. My first Iron Butt.

One of the reasons I don't ride a Harley, that would never be possible. 😜

Was 40c when we pulled into Kentucky a couple years ago. Still ATTGATT but man we finished that day at a bar and bikes didn’t move until the next morning.

That's funny. We went to Thompson Manitoba for the same reason only to find out there was more asphalt to the north of there.

Used to pleasure ride, then commuted by bike to downtown. Since than have to drive car for work and pleasure riding has been very little the last couple of years. Unfortunately haven't really ridden much. Usually out by mid March....this year got the bike out last week for the first time and no plans yet. Need a new battery too....and wear items(specifically tires).

I love the sense of occasion when riding after a break....makes me want to buy a bunch of stuff afterward....new riding gears, go fast stickers, carbon stuff

I really don’t know why people put aftermarket exhaust on jap V-twins, They really sound like **** when they do.

Not sure if you mean all V--twins or just referring to cruisers, because when I bought my first V-Strom the previous owner had a Staintune exhaust on it and I loved it. It was just a little deeper and had more full sound while not obnoxious at all. The stock exhaust note is like a sewing machine, but it is nice and quiet.

So what's your 2000km review on the bike?
Remind me again - is yours the 2019 or a newer one?
Mines a 2019 with 12000km on it now, and its bone stock.
Very first thought, stock dunlop 222f tires SUCK. The rear slides real easy and the front doesn't inspire confidence.
Wind protection is good but the windscreen is noisy, needs to be addressed at some point. I'm likely to try cutting the stock screen as the PO tried cleaning it with a brillo pad anyway.
Coming off several midsize 650 twins, the tracer has plenty of power. The midrange pull is awesome.
The handling is very light and agile, especially compared to more long legged adv bikes.
It feels much smaller compared to a vstrom/versys.
I like the electronic cruise, it's cool af.
Qickshift for me is cool but unnecessary.
Stock seat is ok, not great.
Stock lighting is pretty damn good and the newer ones come with driving lights stock I believe.
Stock sidebags are only 22l each but they are fjr bags so the larger fjr bags will fit as well.
I haven't carried a passenger yet but I think it's a great solo tourer and a fine local ride for two up. Don't think I'd enjoy long distance two up on this bike. Ymmv
I wouldn't hesitate to head to BC tomorrow on mine in stock form, its plenty good as is.
I like that it's still a relatively simple bike for me to work on. No electronic suspension etc.
I was cross shopping a used Multistrada and a Super Duke Gt but the added complexity turned me off. (Scared me off?)
Overall I really like the tracer, the power hits the sweet spot for the street. Suspension is pretty good, I'm still dialing mine in and I'll likely play with oil and springs this winter.
After 2000 km the list of additions/changes is short. Windscreen, and seat (eventually).
Hit me up if you want a good long run, I'm not working at all anymore so I'm good to ride nearly anytime and I have no issues throwing you my keys.
