how angry would it make you if other rider passed you in your own lane?

I've seen a bike heading for the open tire track from behind me, and I ride a fairly wide bike, so a little wiggle towards that direction seemed to convince them that passing me in my lane was a bad idea, but you have to see it coming.

It's a dick move, unless at a stop or something like that.

Even at that if I pull up beside somebody at a light, Ill still hold off and let them go first if they were in front of me but I wouldnt be ****** if someone passed me like that. But yeah to the OP, total dick move.

I was riding on the weekend and I came upon two slower riders who were together in formation. They both moved over to the edge of their lane and motioned for me to pass. I went to the edge of the lane on the left, almost on the yellow line and passed courteously.

I've had riders pass me in my own lane, only to weave in front of me and then make a right turn at the next intersection, at which point they're stuck at a light, negating any reason to try to advance past me.

Only one thing to do:

Follow them. When they turn, cut them off using a safe line while proceeding to kick 'em. Most guys who do this can't turn for their life.

(I kid, please don't try this, you'll probably flip off the bike lol)

Made me real angry. Coming up to a red light on a 4 lane city street with wifey riding behind in proper formation/lane. Light turns green,I have a brain fart and don't get moving,and she's got a head of steam and blows by on the right. It actually scared the bejesus out of me. I was so mad that I wheeled us into a lot to give her a talking to. Then,thinking the next few minutes through and what I was about to say, just mentioned that I was wrong and that didn't make her action right.
Also; remember drivers ed? even bicycles have the FULL lane and you have to pass them as if a full motor vehicle. So that applies for motorcycles also.

i try to get as close as possible, and give them a little scare. hopefully it scares them enough to not go on the roads again.

btw---yes, i know they are allowed to be there..

Please mount a camera to your handlebars and turn the footage over to the police when these events happen. Eventually these squids will kill themselves running from the police due to no plates or insurance.

Same thing happened to me - by same, I mean same bike...

I was in left turning lane (west bound Dundas to 3rd line) - Dude on red "monster" splits beside me (it was red light) - then when we got to twisty bit on 3rd line, he was slow as ****..... Def ****** move...

Doing that in traffic makes you an idiot, full-stop. The difference you refuse to comprehend is that it is only their blind luck that made it an entertaining video vs. a horrific fatal crash.
I agree that doing that in traffic makes them complete idiots but if you think for one second it's blind like maybe you need to reevaluate riding my friend. The average Joe absolutely could NOT do what they did in that video. Doesn't make them smart but it does take a skill set not everyone has.

As for passing me in my lane... anyone who does it best not be around me when there's a stop. There are two guys I've ridden with forever that I'm comfortable with them doing it but if some douchevest wearing dumbfuck ever pulls it and we stop in the same place I'd be worried.

I was on the DVP Sat night around 9PM, in the rightmost lane going ~100kph in the left tire track and a Goldwing or something like that was following me for a couple miles in the the right tire track of the same lane about 20/30 feet back. He maintained my speed until he went to exit on the DVP, when he passed me in the same lane on the right tire track before his exit.

I think he was doing it to give me a wave before he left. I waved back with my foot and didnt really think twice about it.

To the Op you are doing 120... him 150... considering the 30 km difference if you are constantly checking mirrors you should have seen him coming in time to not be surprised and anticipate the pass. I am not saying it's OK but maybe buddy had to take a leak, dump or some important matters to deal with and was angry you were blocking his progress. Doing 120 in the left lane nowadays is slow considering 140 is the norm. I always got my back covered looking for those flashing red lights and nutbar cagers.

Why would I need to re-evaluate riding? The luck part is them not catching debris, another vehicle giving them a wee surprise, potholes, etc. That by every definition is luck. We can agree to disagree on their overall ability, but what they did in the video was not skill. They simply did not run into any of the hundreds of things a rider would see daily in the length of that vid, as if they had, there wouldn't be enough left of them to discuss. Rossi, Marquez, any truly skilled riders (not the twats in the vid) would be equally dead pulling that crap on a public road and then hitting a pothole or whatever. Luck, all day long buddy. I think we can all agree that David Jefferies had more talent in his last bowel movement than anyone here, care to comment on how he met his maker? Or Robert Dunlop?

**** can happen anywhere, anytime, but aggravating it to include the odds these people have is not something I'm naive enough to confuse with skill.

was riding on 403 east doing about 120ish in the left lane when all of a sudden I hear (insert ducati sound) on my left side and this $%^& on a monster passed me at least at 150+ speed!!! after which he darted in and out like they were gonna award him.

You &^%$ ****** bag if you don't care about your own life then go jump from a bridge. At least let others live. I usually move from left to right in my lane and had I moved a tiny bit at that moment the outcome would not have been very good. It was scary honestly.

I thought of pursuing him but then said to myself one idiot on the road is enough.

/end

So, you're in the left lane, doing 120-"ish"? and in the left side of the left lane?

I'd have passed you too. Learn how to ride:

1) stop hogging the fast lane, 120-ish is too slow;
2) ride in the proper blocking lane, i.e. the right side of the left lane;
3) check your mirrors regularly.

Buddy did you a favor because sooner or later, that's gonna be a cager doing the same thing if you keep riding like that.

The guy stated in the thread he was passing a cager when this happened, I hate people that sit in the passing lane too but if he is actually passing someone then he has every right to be in that lane doing 120.
