how angry would it make you if other rider passed you in your own lane?

Those bike paths are not supposed to be used by pedestrians, they are supposed to walk beside the path. I avoid those paths not because of kids, but dogs.

Interesting?

if I find myself down there again, I'm going to look to see if there is any signage identifying who should/shouldn't be on the trail? Always lots of people walking on the path, so if it is bike only, nobody is listening

I do know I saw signage identifying that there is poison ivy along thes sides of the trail  that would make me stick to walking on the path

Yes, would definately mind. Even if they were on a group ride with me. Unless I wave you to do so, don't even think about passing me in my own lane.

Last time I recall, just because you're on a bike doesn't make you a cultured human being

I normally think these threads are stupid, but i must admit, that would royally piss me off!

If i wasn't busy, I would follow him and have a word, he might not realize how stupid that is so I would make sure to explain it and hope he is not doing it just to be a total *******

Aren't you the same guy gobsmacked at some other riders "skill" whilst cranking 300 kph using shoulders, lane sharing, etc? lol

Happened to me when I had my M1 end of season last year - I pulled out onto a 2 lane highway behind a duc (hmmmm...coincidence?) - passed him by going into the left lane, using a signal etc because he was doing 80 right on the dot...then he comes flying past me on my RIGHT side in the right lane.... now I didn't really care at the time because I wasn't aware of proper motorcycle etiquette but now looking back that was a real d*ck move on his part, me being a newbie if I had swerved in my lane we would have both been seriously injured and I just don't understand the unnecessary risk some people take. I believe I still have that one on video if I can dig it up...

Any idiot can pass someone at 150, no skill needed - Double the speed and do what those guys did, that require skill like it or not.

You seem to confuse the fact that I recognized those guys having skill with thinking I will applaud a vest wearing idiot doing 150 on a straight line.

Nope, wrong again my friend. Doing that in traffic makes you an idiot, full-stop. The difference you refuse to comprehend is that it is only their blind luck that made it an entertaining video vs. a horrific fatal crash. One single mistake, that's it. But carry on, people that get starry-eyed and full of expertise over this stuff have it all covered, lol. You should really reconsider racing; with your mentality we could just do away with etiquette, flagmen, and rules in general if you have big enough balls to do something retarded.

That is your opinion, mine is different - So you are not going to change my mind and I am not changing yours. end of conversation.

By the way, nice straw argument

Both your opinions are wrong. if you want to know who is right, ask Rob McMod for his opinion.

You either respect logic or don't.

You will never convince someone when they choose to not acknowledge logic. It's a waste of time.

RE - motorcycle passing me in my own lane - unannounced majorily ****** off - if I know you are coming on two lane roads, will make every effort to pull far enough to let you go by and have your fun, on multi lane or highways I keep to the right unless passing, but that doesn't necessarily eliminate the problem. My friend and I had a group of sport bikes weave between us while riding in the right lane on the Red Hill Expressway presumably because the other two passing lanes (was 3 lanes each way) were too slow and too congested for them. To make it worse, this was at night and headlights in rear view mirrors tend to blur together at night.

RE - multi use paths - cyclist, rollerbladers and pedestrians are all suppose to stay right and pass on the left. The worse offenders are the pedestrians who I am happy to give the right of way to if I can figure out WTF they are going - wandering across the path without looking, dogs on effing extend-a-leashes, kids I expect to be kids and keep a close eye on tem, but if they suddenly dash in front of me going down a hill on rollerblades we are both toast.

would piss me off, but as above were you passing? Its not right to be a left lane bandit, but...

I had a d!ck pass me on the left, in a car (two wheels dropped onto the left shoulder) as I was passing another car, I guess the "greater than flow of traffic" I was doing wasn't enough for this obviously important person. I would estimate he was doing some 150-160 passing me.

I wanted to follow him to find out what I needed to do to be as important as him, but I held myself back.

Didn't have Quebec plates in a Merc SUV did he? Same thing happened to me a while back and the "mist of foolishness" decended for a short time before I cooled down.

LOL

"over 150!!"

150km/h? not even 100mph...you should have seen him coming in your mirror and moved out of the way.

sorry the mean man scared you ;)

pussies r us in ONT it seems

Hmm...if he was in the process of passing a car already would that still make him a pussy and the other rider a mean man? Or would it change things to sensible rider and *******?

there a few things that would piss me off about that.

#1 Why dont I have a bike that can do that.
#2 IF i did that I would get caught
#3 If he's gonna ride like a dick, at least he could have passed me doing a wheelie.
#4 my bike sucks

I've seen a bike heading for the open tire track from behind me, and I ride a fairly wide bike, so a little wiggle towards that direction seemed to convince them that passing me in my lane was a bad idea, but you have to see it coming.

It's a dick move, unless at a stop or something like that.

Had this happen to me on 401 far right lane. Bunch of squids, saw them coming but didn't expect them to pass me in my lane or on the shoulder. Especially when traffic was light and the three other lanes were empty.
Total disregard for life boils my blood. I still think what would have happened if I moved a few inches over to avoid debris.
Very careless riding. Worse when a car does it on regular roads, not highway. I hate that.
