We have done 12 cruise ship cruises and if you count charters and small boat we are over 30 . We like it .
I get horribly seasick and only once on a cruise ship and even that was treated in 1 day with gravol. Most have state of the art gyro controlled stabilization. They sit pretty flat . We like waking up on a different island or in a different city harbour. We day trip off the ship every day , snorkeling, diving , visit a new beach , see some ruins , tour a cathedral, visit a volcano or see the what’s left of Pompeii. Or just walk through town. We don’t buffet much except breakfast ( because it’s fast) and both enjoy sitting down in the evening for a nice formal meal in the dining room. Every ship we have been on features floor shows at night , a casino if that’s your thing , one has a theatre showing new release movies . And multiple bars that usually have some sort of entertainment. Or you can take a beer , sit on the upper deck ( usually all alone ) and watch the stars , look over the horizon for other ships , or just dream.
Just never take a Carnival ship as your first because it’s a cheap introduction, yes they are cheap for a reason and you get what you pay for .
