Hiring Immigrants instead of " our own people "

rubbish
go to GE in Peterborough, 50% of the engineers are from Asia. Even though the local population is 93% white.

That's cuz they don't have a choice, if u look at the Universities now, the majority of population of classes in Sciences are of ethnic backgrounds. :p

That has more to do with PEO than anything.. IIRC, as long as you have an engineering degree from an accredited university and a right amount of demonstrable work experience, they allow you to write the exam. That's unlike our medical profession where a guy whose published works are cited in our med schools couldn't even practice as a nurse. I guess engineers are smarter than doctors. While engineers realize that the laws of physics stay the same regardless of national borders, our doctors think that humans in Canada are built to different standards than humans in Latvia ;)

I've gotta admit there are different standards in Canada/Western hemisphere compared to the developing nations. In Canada, doctors can be sued and held accountable for their actions, but in some countries an error is "too bad, too sad better luck next time".

I've spoken to some doctors from other countries and they told me it took them 4yrs to practice. I don;t think that's possible in Canada

Offence or Offense hmmm

:happy3:

Judgement or Judgment?
Organisation or Organization?
Programme or Program?
Wrench or Spanner?

This gives me a headache, never mind

Sweet time to quit my job, move to Oshawa, knock up a few fat hoes, drink beer and smoke all day, collect UI, complain bout them damm IMMIGRANTS taking my job.

A little too far to the right, dial it back a bit.

speaking from personal experience, it was the canadian-trained ******* doctor (queen's university) at the hospital emerg who nearly killed a loved one, and meanwhile it was a foreign-trained (south africa) doctor that saved her life.

we found out the hard way that the canadian medical association protects its **** ups--the same idiot actually went on to completely miss a cancer diagnosis (until it was too late) and other screwups. not sure there's as much accountability as you might think. . .

Lol it's a beverage brand that hipsters love. If anything, I guess they did me a favour by getting rid of me :laughing8:

Wouldn't that qualify as wrongful dismissal? You might have been to give them hell with the help of our dear HRT.
Not being a hipster, I have no clue what the beverage is. Can you give a second clue?

He was booted off the campaign, not out of a job. I have a good idea what the brand is, the initials are PBR.

I believe the tax credit is to apply to "immigrants" to Ontario, so even people from other provinces are eligible, even Canadian citizens.

The thing I do not agree with, is that this does nothing to help the 500,000 unemployed who are already here...

I'd really like to, but I probably shouldn't. I'll say that it isn't BPR, but that was a pretty good guess, Retro. You know your hipsters well. Ironically, I was at the country music awards afterparty the other night. I swear I might as well have blonde hair and blue eyes :|

I'd definitely have a decent fight if I were to make a big deal out of it (which is why I'm not supposed to know why I got booted). I wouldn't have the time to deal with it all, but I do wonder what would happen if I won. Compensation?

Things must have changed significantly then, because when I was younger PBR was pretty much the American "50"

**Off-topic diversion ahead** Hipsters live for irony, it's the ultimate hipster-cool. Though Hipsters are mostly urban technogeeks, giving off the appearance of being working-class rocks their world, hence the donning of John Deere caps, flannel shirts and the swilling of PBR while simultaneously texting on the latest Iphone, peering through $500 horn-rim replica eyeglasses.

Damn. I was just poor and had no taste.

I will add a true conclusion to this thread (THIS COUNTRY IS BUILT ON IMMIGRANTS)

Do u agree?

One experience does not make it a fact.
I am not saying the Canadian system is perfect
