hd hero2 out

Yes but i'm viewing it in 1080p on youtube on my monitor with a resolution of 2048x1152. No matter how good the video quality is, VGA video (640×480) will still not look as good.

But then again, my videos never look as good as the ones shown in the demo's (GoPro HD)

Actually, looking closer and pausing the vid (or not) at the guy with blue pants making a flip on the skis, I can see the squares/groups of pixels, which are not visible in the rest of the video. It's WVGA btw, at 848x480. And out of curiosity, why don't you run your monitor on just 1080p ?

I don't want to start another thread, since this is only peripherally related to riding anyway, so I'll ask here. Does anyone here have experience with the Replay XD1080 camera? It's tiny and the features look good, especially the HDMI output, options for wireless transmission, and external mic option. It's pricey though, so I'd rather not dive in without hearing some opinions first.

The housing has just broke on my original (3 seasons, can't complain) and now it looks like I'll be buying one of these. Different angles, here I come.

I feel the same too.
I assume that they clean up their footage a lot to make those awesome commercials.

What's awesome is I see GoPros being used everywhere now.
They have some on the new Canada's Worst Driver.

Still no word if the HD2 fits the HD1 housing?

From what I can see, they look identical. There is hope.
Even if you bought the cheapest kit of the hd2, you'd get a housing anyways.

I like their reviews - http://www.webbikeworld.com/motorcycle-video-camera-reviews/replay-xd-1080/

The only reason I'm sticking with GoPro is that I already have mounts on my bikes. :)

I figured that it would be nice to have a camera pointing each way, so went looking for what was available rather than just another Contour HD. The Contour has some good points, like the dual LASERs to show you what it's looking at when you're setting it up, but the Replay is smaller and doesn't require a waterproof case.

Thats my monitors native resolution. 1080P on my monitor is stretched so it doesn't look so good.

Your fault for buying a monitor that is an uncommon size. :p

I like this monitor more then 1080P monitors. I dont play games so it doesn't really matter if its irregular.

I believe Rodney (3DGameMan) uses the same monitors but with a triple setup while i use a dual setup.

Given that the battery can't be swapped out, I thought that battery life might be somewhat of an issue. The cost of their billet mounting accessories is also pretty high. Still, it looks like at least as good an option as the Contour HD, that I'm currently using, in a more usable form factor and with better sound.

shame about the battery..

anyway, with GoPRos becoming more common, they are becoming more socially acceptable at Ski Fields (well, you're generally not the first person most people would have seen with this square box attached to your head) ;)

I had a GoPro mounted to my chest while riding a Dirt bike this year. Footage was awesome.

I think I'll try to do the chest mount this weekend if I go out on the dirt bike. All my footage is on my helmet, but you don't see how much you move around on the bike.

I ordered one, anyway, since my Contour states a 2 hour battery life and I don't have a spare battery anyway. I'll see how it goes. The Replay just seems more versatile.
