He failed to mention being forced to stand in snow barefoot in summer while being whipped.
Barrie. Probably meth. Bad language and some blurry nudity in video. Guy smashed through a glass door to get a drink and told the occupants to f off for not letting him in.
Not just "the city" and not just the youth.
TL: DR 57 yo woman in kingston uses a kitten as a weapon to beat her partner. The kitten dies in the process. As expected, one of the charges is breach of recognizance. Bleeping nuts. I'd be shocked if she isn't out in public shortly with another court order to keep the peace (if you ignore one, two will do something right?).

I all seriousness, some seemed good as a way to remove stupidity (eg. 15 m setback is normally required but we want 30m now just because and we don't care if that wipes out a row of dwellings) but I am sure some were dumb (like a tall tower near the airport).

The good thing is zoning is subordinate to federal restrictions for aviation. There are probably a thousands of plots that are zoned for builds that are hazard to aviation or navigation, the process stops those things from being constructed. I recall similar restrictions years ago around Buttonville, the lands surrounding that airport are zoned for buildings up to 28 floors, but when it comes time for approvals, they have to collect approvals from Transport Canada who sets the ma height.LOL

Developers will be swimming in the dough once that airport closes.
Road rage on 401 near 400. Black dodge ram with 6-7 east Indian people piles out. For an unknown reason, other driver got out too. Truck guys beat the victim with 2x4's and then took off. Police response was "send everybody". Truck got away.

Victim has a suspended license. While he is laying in the road waiting for ambulance, cops have his car towed. Really crappy night for that guy.

That sounds like something more than simple road rage…
Sounds like someone didn’t pay up for work, or something else to me…
The only story the police have so far is the victim. He probably wouldn't tell the cops if he just stiffed someone.
Was out with the dog this am.. with a buddy and his dog. Both dogs laying in the grass, chewing on sticks. A man approached us and just squares off with the my buddy's dogo.. He took a fighting stance and made growling and hissing sounds at her.. his dog didn't react. My buddy asked him what he was doing.. he went into a rant about how he kills dogs with his bare hands back home... too many, they kill children.. then picks up a garbage bin and made like he was going to throw it at the dogo.. my buddy stepped in-between. The guy started saying "you have a problem with me".. "I'll fight 3 like you".. etc.. My buddy remained calm and tried asking the guy what he is problem was, why is he mad at his dog... The guy said something like "back home I kill that dog, you shouldn't have it".. "too many like you"... more words were exchanged and the guy walked off... We continued on doing our thing.. We'd chuckled it off at this point... didn't take it too seriously. A half hour or so later I notice the guy coming up behind us again.. with purpose. I let my buddy know.. and went to tie my dog to a nearby post so at least one of us has free hands.. in that time, the guy went straight at buddy's dog and tried to get it going.. then started slapping at it. The dog didn't react at him, it was just confused by him and it all.. my buddy just kept backing away, trying to keep his dog away but when he turned away from him to hand me the leash.. the guy jumps on and grabs my buddy by the head/collar and starts on him. They both fall over.. my buddy fell on top of the guy.. the guy wouldn't let go... at this point, my buddy was just trying to break free.. while trying to control the dog.. that is now reacting full on. I grabbed the leash and tried to pull his dog away.. but couldn't fast enough. The dog grabbed the guy's head and gave him a good shaking.. let go... and went back in for the guy's face/throat.. buddy blocked it and took the hit on his arm... the guy is still holding him down while he's trying to keep his dog off him. I got the dog pulled back a little.. out of the way. Buddy laid a quick beating on the guy, enough to break free.. got up, grabbed his dog and walked off. The guy was down and bleeding all over the place from the head. I thought he was done so went and untied my dog and stood off to the side to wait for the 911 folks with others that had walked up onto the scene during the melee.. including another buddy with his male pitbull... and 3-4 others. one of them was on the phone with 911 already.. and then paramedics...
The guy gets up, blood pouring out of his head, pieces of scalp hanging.. eye swollen shut.. and comes at my dog and me.. I backed away.. pleading with the guy to stop.. that he's only going to get hurt worse.. etc.. He changes direction and starts to go at the guy with the male pitbull.. who runs away.. and then to another dog owner with a mastiff.. the whole time ranting about killing dogs with his bare hands.. I handed my dog to another and helped the guy back to the ground.. kept him there til the cops start to show up. Cops did their thing, took statements. Paramedics tended to the guy and took him off on a stretcher. Some of the cops came from talking to my buddy first, who was home by then, and had seen him and met his dog.. the ones that got to us first came from the other direction. It was kinda funny watching the cops coming to realize that this guy had actually attacked my buddy and his dog.. a fit 230lbs man and a 125lb dogo argentino.
I gave my official statement to one of the cops that came to us first.. He actually took a video statement right there in the field.. but had to keep retelling it to the cops that came from my buddy's place because they were in disbelieve it happened like it did and that someone would try that.. especially with those two.
I overheard one of those cops saying to the others "you haven't seen the guy and dog yet? **** bro, you don't know.. this guy got off lucky"
I don't know wtf that guy was thinking.. He wasn't right in the head.
Cop told me he was probably going to be put on a mental health hold after he's patched up. Apparently he kept up with the "killing dogs with his barehands" and some other off comments to the paramedics and cops.
My buddy's dog is home with him. As it is now.. cops and animal control are considering it self defence and have no issue with the dog. He has to quarantine the dog for a few days at home.
