There are many kinds of socialism, two main kinds around these days... Marxist (China, Russia, Cuba) which are/were terrible failures... then there is democratic socialism (Nordic countries) which works very well apparently

You can't paint them all with the same brush

My parents evaded communism 30yrs ago. Manuscripts were not allowed to leave the country. I remember he sneaked a mechanic's text out

You're full of sht. Mikhail Kalasnikov (father of th AK) got paid a basic wage for his work on the gun. He owns no patent or got paid extra for his work. One of the most produced & replicated firearms in history. Everything he did was owned by the state. Professors & nuclear physicists were almost starving in Russia.

You keep preaching how good communism is. Nothing is stopping you from leaving & live there

I never said communism is good.. i said it served its purpose in its time.. in Eastern Europe communism failed because of a lack of evolution/adaptation..

It also has a very low recidivism rate cause the focus on reform rather than punishment.

It doesn't have too society and its parts arn't made to suit your special snow flake feelings. Norways system works really well and the dangerous offenders who cant be reformed stay in their system for life. A guided cage is still a cage

Freedom 55 was last year.
One parent worked hard in a union job, and the other in a non union one.
I was a member of a union for a while as well. That's where some of my cynicism comes from.

I've got you pegged as an idealistic 20 year old. Am I right?

Freedom 57 was last year. Just a social progressive, I guess.
Union member carreer and I appreciated the benefits.
The US republicans and Canadian social conservatives rub me the wrong way.
