Dumb people or people that think the government has money will think this is good. Anyone that understands they are borrowing from our grandkids will be outraged.
EDIT:
Realistically, we will be paying infinite interest on these cheques as debts are large enough that no future government will ever make substantial progress on reducing them.

To be fair, both of them are planning on sending out cheques while having multi-billion dollar deficits.

This current Liberal government is a total train wreck of corruption and incompetence.They’ve stopped being the Liberal Party and have become the Justin Trudeau Party. When will they and the NDP’s stop holding this country hostage and call an election that Canadians so badly want.

And I don’t put complete blame on the Liberals , the conservatives couldn’t produce a decent candidate ( still can’t) and gave the liberals another ride . We did this .

I use to go to a little curry and roti shop in Pickering at Brock and Kingston road run by an older Guyanese couple. They use to have a picture of themselves and Justin Trudeau between them with his arms around them right behind the cash register. Apparently he was at that plaza campaigning. I go there a while later and the picture is gone. I asked the lady what happened to the picture, she looked at me and said in a very serious tone “ I had to take it down, customers were coming in here and losing their minds when they saw it. I was afraid of losing business.” . Shortly after, they went out of business during Covid lockdowns. Thanks Justin, now I can’t even get a decent curry in Durham.

My life was better in every measurable way when he was running the show than it is now. I met him once and shook his hand. I swear to god there was an aura around him.

Is anyone outside of Canada doing anything meaningful? If not we're the only ones not peeing in the atmospheric pool. So the pool has a small fraction of a percent less urine.
EU has carbon pricing, too. The UK just shut down their last coal-fired generating station (ahead of schedule). China has been installing lots of solar and wind, and I believe their EV market share just exceeded 50%. Australia has lots of solar generation in place and is building more.
Isn't China still building coal plants?
