Great rate at TD MM

I actually posted a comment on a Kawasaki ad on their Facebook page for the ZX10R a few years ago saying they should be doing something to help riders to get affordable insurance and more people would buy bikes like that (I know insurance is one of the primary factors keeping me away from any SS, nevermind a liter bike). Their response was to delete the comment and block me from posting on their page anymore.
As in Kawi canada or?!

I went online and got a quote from TD Insurance for my bought-used 2011 Fazer 8. I'm a 48 yo noob: M2 for just over a year. My "best value" quote was $1276 (best-coverage was $1324) which while 22% more than I pay SF/Dejardins right now, is wholly satisfactory to me given my noob-ness and that the bike's not exactly a 49cc scooter.

Given some of the numbers I've seen this seems almost a "lowball" quote. I wonder what it would be if I took my house and three cars with me from SF/Dejardins.

The problem is my renewal isn't until August and my agent can't or won't give me any hint at all as to what will happen at that time. Because of this I'm tempted to just bail out and go to TD (or somewhere else...)

Thoughts?

EDIT: Hehe. Just re-did the quote for a 2016 Aprilia Tuono V4 1100: $1327. Maybe I can go ahead with this purchase in the spring/summer after all...

for my cb500x that was the price approximately for it standalone. but when i added house and car it dropped to close to $1k

It galls me that they let that slip by, yet the ZX-11 is still considered an SS

lol TD gave me a ridiculous quote for a 250cc, 21 clean record M2 new rider.

like 300 a month and thats just for liability..

Got my renewal with TD, and it went up $250 like everyone else's did. Riders Plus isn't giving anything better.
Does All States requires valid M license for 5 years? I got mine late, but I remember them saying something to that effect.

3 years full M.

YOU'RE ABSOLUTELY RIGHT.

allstate told me car is also required, along with the bike.

I was thinking about TD MM. Sleepy surfing got me putting out wrong info. Good catch.

Hi, did you get a quote from Allstate? I am agent with Allstate and I can tell you, that it is not required to have your car or home with Allstate to get bike insurance. If you would like, I would like to see if I can help you with this and provide you a quote. You can contact me at the office @ 866-471-1900 Ext 5011, or you can send me a PM with your number and I can call you.

Thanks,

-Vinnie

Yesterday I called and allstate didn't even give me a quote. They said I had to have my car with them, and told me, i quote, "Were not competitive with bike insurance at all", not knowing any better I was shocked and said okay thanks and moved down to the next company I had on my list. Thanks

I will definitely call you.

WHAT???? Are you serious? Here what... Can you please send me a PM with your number, and I'll call you tomorrow...?

I was also told that I have to be 30+ with M, and bring my car over to insure a bike. Seems like a lot of muddy waters with Allstate.

I called allstate yesterday. I was told I have to have home insurance to insure a motorcycle. I said I did not have house. Was told they cannot give me a quote.

No problem for me getting a bike quote from Allstate for bike alone. M class for many years, late 30's.
