Great rate at TD MM

With my recent increase from State Farm, I'll be taking my house, wife's car, and life insurance policies to whoever I end up with. On a bit of an interesting note: a month ago the TD website gave me a quote of $850 ish for the bike alone. Last night it was in the $1200 range.

Keep in mind guys, sometimes bringing over renter's insurance or home insurance might not result in a discount, but you could end up paying the same rate AND get extra insurance. It's worth asking what they can do.

Currently paying $2004/yr with TD MM.

I turned 25 in December. Online quote says my renewal should have been $1224/yr.

My renewal just came in the mail... $2419/yr.

21% increase from previous year. 97% increase from what my renewal was supposed to be.

Show off!lol

Lol, I don't even ride on the road any more... But with everyone posting horrible rates I thought I would check...
It's gone up a bit since I was riding , same bike but then it was a 2008.. But 100/month for a SS.. Isn't bad compared to what people have posted...

I was just kidding with you, i still ride on the street and i can't complain with my Insur. I guess age/years of riding makes a huge diff.

Has anyone gotten an online quote like the above (and the one I got which produced very similar numbers for my Fazer 800) and actually followed through with TD and received the same quote from an agent? In the current climate these numbers seem almost too good to be true and I wonder if they're intended to hook you in for a bait and switch type deal where you get this amazing quote and either the "real" quote is higher and/or a year later see a 2x increase...

I've been with TD a while. As long as you don't BS the quote it's quite accurate (for me it is). The only time it changed for me is if I changed my options on the phone..
The reps have been too honest... Lol.. House insurance went up, the rep suggested I look elsewhere... But other insurers couldn't beat their rate, so I didn't switch

32/m/Milton
Got m2 last august along with Yamaha R3
Both SF and TD MM wanted around $1200 a year, went with state far as it was a bit cheaper.
Did online quote today with TD MM and it came out to $550, called in and I got the same quote over phone +/- few dollars for different options.
Glad to go down so much, didn't bother calling SF to see if they would go down as much, as I have car with MM so I can have it on one policy, plus recent discussions about price hikes with SF really put me off.

TD MM
Car insurance went up from $135 to $150
Home insurance went up from $40 to $50

Screw TD MM!

- I got insurance with them last year for my 06 GSXR 600 for about $995/year
- Got my renewal and it went up to $1420! (30% increase)
- no tickets or claims, riding for over 11 years, living in Brampton

Called everywhere and I managed to get a rate of $1110 with Mantha Insurance with full coverage. That was the cheapest I could find. BTW - its a stand alone policy. Allstate was willing to do it for $1350 for liability only.

Mantha @ Aviva Insurance all the way for sport bikes all the way! I remember when statefarm insurance my bike for $700/year when it was brand new....sigh....the good ol days.

Not sure if this is legal or not, but when I switched from SF to Dejardins (mid takeover, huge difference in $$) I didn't cancel my SF until I had all of Dejardins paperwork in hand. I didn't want to switch just to find out there was an error in what they were charging me.

This is the problem right now.

The TD MM website is quoting me $1200, but when I call in to confirm my renewal it's $2400.

I did not BS anything on the online quote. I provide them the exact same info over the phone and they can't get the $1200 rate.

I don't know... Insurance has no logic... I'm in no rush to ride road anytime soon. Other traffic are so preoccupied with everything but driving its not enjoyable anymore.

Just means their website update team can't keep up with the changes they've made. Give it a bit, they'll fix it sooner than later.

signed with TD today web quoted 1300.00 (41 yr old, clean record m2 2013 gsxr 600) called in and got it for $1000.00 full coverage I do need to get an alarm. 50% less then SF

Imo it's already "later". With the masses all flocking to online quotes, that should have been adjusted first.

I suspected that their online quote system was hopelessly broken when it quoted me over $7000/yr back in October.

Now insured for $700/yr with someone else.

There is a large amount of legacy systems that function in the background that have to work with 'new' technology. Insurance companies (like most established corporations and entities) don't fix things until they ABSOLUTELY need to. So getting your website to pull information from a 30 year old Mainframe running COBOL written host jobs takes a while to update.
