Very nice! Great shape. Is that your daily driver?

I'm looking for an air cooled, 350 or 400, with spoked rims. I want to juice up an old cafe style RD.

Sweet. I love your bike... too clean and classic. One of these days I'm going to build up the courage to build me a cafe racer bike too..
I've actually been looking into the Honda CBs... for a nice vintage style bike.Throw a http://www.vikingbags.com/kawasaki-...g-arm-bag-motorcycle-saddlebags-7815-prd1.htm swing arm bag on it and use it as a daily commuter everywhere. I figured I'll save myself loads on gas.. until winter comes around. Then the big giant SUV comes alive.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure that my RZ will never see a track.

If I look at puting an RZ on the track, I'll still have to do some major mods. They were built with 18" rims. All the decent rubber is made for 17" rims. An RZ track bike would still require some decent cash outlay.

Something to think about. First I have to get my 2T finished.

Continental has just come out with awesome radial race rubber in narrow vintage 18" sizes.

Good to know about Continental as the TU250X uses that size.

Jeff, why don't you consider one? Air cooled and spoked wheels.

It has spokes, but 2 extra strokes. I'm a poet and didn't know it.

Seriously, I'm kinda partial to the Yamaha parallel twins. I just love the ring ding sound. It's like a high powered sewing machine or an angry weed whacker. I'm very comfortable as how to modify them, where to get parts, etc. I wouldn't feel bad about chop/cut/rebuild to breathe some new life into an old bike.

That's cool. Not point in racing if you can't get some decent rubber for the rims.

Ok, I'll post some better pics of my bike here. Forgive me as I'm gonna be a pic whore here temporarily.

Awesome...One of the few two strokes reliable enough for everyday street riding.
Love that thing.
I'd love to resto-mod (modern wheels, tires, brakes suspension) an FZR400 or an early 80's Katana....an 85 pop up headlight model would be my absolute fave!

Here's one of my fave Kat's. All beefed up and stretched. Not the pop up head light model though.

I think taking these old bikes and bringing them into the 21st century is soooo cool. Really, this is how they were meant to be. My opinion only.

Here's a Kawi - couldn't get pic to load thru photobucket, so it's kinda crappy

Red, Yamaha, RD, cafe..... Oooh, those are some of my favorite words in a sentence. Put them together and you get something like this.

Give me a hollar when you do the cafe racer. I'd really love to see what your plans are. PM me, I'll give you some contact info.

You like the Yamaha speed block better! Classic Yamaha. I was trying to find a way to work them into my final paint scheme - part of a 2 tone paint job.

I prefer the GP style cans on the end of the pipes. Gives it a bit of a TZ race look.

Regardless, it's all good.

I read a couple post claiming ground clearance issues with the GP style expansion pipes.
I bought a set of Wicked pipes, looks awesome on the bike and perform well but I've scratched them up a couple times around tight corners...
And I had to modify the side kickstand (didn't want a huge dent in brand new pipes)

I might end up restoring one to stock and selling it (change points to electronic ignition)
The 1975 only has 4500KM on her :)

You bought a set of Rogers pipes. I've hear mostly good things about them. I think a some guys had fitment issues, but overall performance was good.

Did you go with mild steel or stainless? A few scrapes just means you're riding her like she was meant to be ridden. Gotta post some pics with the pipes. You didn't have them in your original pics.

I need a set of pipes at some point. It'd be nice to lose 20 lbs and get the performance upgrades as well. My girl needs to go on a diet. Some light weight chambers will do the trick.

4500km's - she's still a virgin man. ;)
