The kid's 16 - I thought we were talking about a 4 year old playing games on daddy's phone. A 16 year old that doesn't get using a smart phone app may incur some $?

I've made clear to Rogers, if I get anymore charges to my account from Google I'm canceling all 4 phones with them.

by the time you cancel 4 phones, it would be cheaper to pay the damn bill
He didn't think a free game was going to bill the phone. The only other options were cc and gift card so since he didn't have either, he had to pick bill phone. I'm more ****** that Rogers refuses to block that at my request.
Yes, it said the game, and the purchases, the game says free in the downloaded apps.
Expensive lesson for all; nothing is really free especially when it gives you options for payment. I'm sure your son is definitely more aware now.
I do agree that it should be an opt in service. Which it is. You gave your phone to your son to use.
You have it set up to log in automatically with your Google account (or gave him the password), otherwise he would not have been able to download apps. He clicked "Bill my phone", using your account, on your phone. He didn't HAVE to click anything, he could have asked you first.
Lesson learned, nothing is free! There is always a catchLock down your phone.

I've emailed bango, and told them that no charges are authorized by me.

there's another problem, they don't really care who you are. if they get an opportunity to charge they will. and then mess with you till you go away.
So I got my cell Bill today, and there's over$75 in charges from bango.com, apparently Google play had added a Bill to my cell phone feature, so my son downloads free games, but they charge everything he buys , which he thinks is free because it says free when he downloads it. Long story short be gets an option to add a payment method, credit card, play store card, or bill to cell, so the only thing hrs can do it click Bill to cell. I called Rogers and after a 2 hr argument with them, and a threat to cancel all 4 of our phones they decide to credit it back to me. I don't know how the hell they are allowed to do this, most kids won't understand the repercussions of clicking it. I told Rogers I don't want them to Bill anything to his number, but they said they can't stop it, that's total b.s.. I own the account,I don't understand how they can make these charges without my approval. I'm going to check if Apple does this, and if not,I may have to reconsider my dislike of Apple and change all the phones to iPhones. Total crooks.

only options to pay with iPhone that i know of is with the gift card or credit card, a quick google search comes up blank for billing your account. this is why the cell providers push android so they can get a cut of all the action. I've also never given a credit card to apple, all my app purchases on the iPhone have been with gift cards... it helps stop impulse purchases because the hassle to go where ever to get a gift card and and enter it.
Each of my kids have their own phones. They are on my business account. The point is I should have a say whether I want bill to cell on my account or not. It's the same as when Rogers added unlimited picture messaging on my phone without my permission

Thanks for the information. I may switch them to Apple. Google used to be good but as of recent seem to be turning in to a scam company.

Jeez dude, might want to start educating your kid on nigerian scams, microsoft calls, speakers out of a van, not opening exe files, and... make sure he does not buy a car from a dude on a oil rig.
Seriously, while I agree that what Rogers is doing is not right, your kid really needs to learn a few things at 16. The world a has very cunning crooks.
