Good gun stories

I totally agree.

The anti-gunners should read this and tattoo it on their foreheads. Guns and Legal gun owners are not the enemy.

;)

There could be common ground here....nutters with guns are a common enemy to both. Anyway, I'm out...anything I say is extrapolated to a meaningless and often repeated argument but nevertheless my arguments are those that carry in most civilised societies (areas of the US are rapidly becoming less civilised IMO). I'd rather live in a civilised society with mostly good laws than an uncivilised society with a ton of crappy ones.

Aw... can't come up with good arguments so you are bailing, eh?

Here is a news release about wild boars near Ottawa, the MNR is asking hunters and farmers to shoot on site: http://www.ofah.org/news/MNRF-authorizing-killing-escaped-wild-boars-prescott-russell

The reason is that wild boars are not native to this area, and as an invasive species they will decimate many of the the native species by over-foraging. And as I explained, one of the best guns for hunting boar is a semi-automatic -- because they are fast and the are often in groups, so if you can take a few shots and take out more than one you are helping to solve the problem.

You must be talking about Britain with this quote -- a place where you need to show ID and sign off on buying a butter knife. Insanity.

If it just saves one life!

Also... think of the children

I thought we were talking house invasions?

If someone acts in this thread as if they reside under a bridge, they may have trouble relating to people living in houses

No I'm bailing because it's a little like arguing with religious zealots. Despite any evidence to the contrary a small but vocal minority cling to their views. In the end though things are hunky dory in Canada and will stay that way for the foreseeable future as sensible heads preside. While the bitching and moaning from the peanut gallery continues I'll carry on in my happy way content in the fact that Joe Schmoe with the personality imbalance isn't allowed to legally re-enact any John Wayne fantasies in this country.

Life is good. Hunt on! Always been partial to wild boar!

Things ARE great here... only around 600 homicides per year for the entire country, 1/3rd by use of firearm.

Millions of us can legally go to the store right now and pick these up without any fuss at all...

You'd think with the availability of such scary weapons of mass destruction we'd have homicide rates right up there with the US.

Trust me, that's how we feel about you too. The difference is you're part of the unstable majority demanding that we cave to your belief system and "compromise" some more since we're all lunatics getting ready to snap :lmao:.

I own both! Except I have the XCR-M in .308

The "unstable" majority? Lol. Must be a real pisser having to acknowledge the authority of this unstable majority. We don't need you to cave to any belief system...it's already done and it's unlikely to change which is why you have threads like this. Q.E.D. :)

What annoys me the most is legislation is made by people who don't have the first clue about what they are legislating -- which is quite evident by some of the laws we're stuck with.

Then we get jc here saying nonsense like banning the rifles that are efficient for killing humans but no bother to hunters. You obviously don't have a clue either.

A .270, .380, .338, and 30-06, all common hunting rounds are way more likely to kill with one shot than your 'scary war guns', and there is a good reason for that.

The rounds I listed are used to take much larger animals than us, namely moose, caribou, and black bear.

The common military rounds, 5.56 and 7.62x39 are designed to wound more often than kill. You see, armies discovered it was more demoralizing to have a soldier screaming in pain and a medic tending to him than a dead soldier in a body bag.

So how do you justify your nonsensical fear of military style guns? Someone with a bolt action .338 could take you out much easier and from much further away, yet you are scared of the less lethal black gun. Illogical nonsense.

Diesel, your close on your comment on the military round, it was to wound as you said, and why, well cause now you would have 2 soldiers out of commission, the wounded one, and the one helping him, because you are not supposed to leave a man behind....there were few medics, but many soldiers and one is always around to help his wounded buddy....

Hollywood sensationalized the black rifle, those AR type, my hunting SAKO 308 will do just as much destruction as will the 308 AR style, but no one is out there trying to ban my SAKO...go figure....

ahh.illogical nonsense? Like...justifying certain weapons by saying you need them to kill more boar more efficiently? lol

I was justifying an action, not a 'weapon'.

There are semi-automatic shotguns too, and they are more effective than pump, lever, bolt, or single action when shooting geese and ducks as you can take more than one shot in very rapid succession therefore more likely to take more than one bird, and since the daily limit is up around 5 birds per day, that means more likely to fill your daily limit -- as there is no guarantee another flock will come anywhere near you after your first shot is taken..

But please, keep on telling us just how little you know about this subject you keep on commenting on.

And I'm running the Meprolight on my AR, just sent it out for some warranty work as the mount was a bit iffy.

Yet the majority side with me. I can understand how frustrating that must be. :)

Majority of the people are border line retarded, nothing to be proud of that they agree with you. After all this same majority re-elected the liberal party after they ****** away billions.

The same majority of people who will buy the latest iphone but are in record debt, have almost no savings and count on cpp for their retirement :lmao:

And yes it is frustrating living with people who seem to have the iq of a bagel

Lol.. At one time, the majority thought that putting all Japanese-Canadians into conc.. I mean "internment" camps was a swell idea
