Getting old sucks...

Honestly I just haven't done much with it the last 2 weeks. Outright stopped lifting heavy (except the kids - eldest is 40lbs).

I drink 10-15 cups / day usually. So the bigger issue is on the other end.
I stop drinking pop (soda) years ago and switched to water, I typically drink 2-3 liters a day with a few cups of black tea tossed in (cutting back on coffee) I enjoy water and look forward to it, but it seems for every liter I drink I have to pee out two. Luckily if I time it right I'm only up once in the night for a lights off, sit down pee..

... and then hope it doesn't take another hour or more to fall back asleep.

That is why I keep the lights off, no shame in having to sit and pee, saves me from cleaning a mess in the morning.

If you don’t have your other numbers in check (sodium, carbs, etc) during the day you’ll just piss out the water and the more you drink the more you’ll dehydrate. Everything needs a balance throughout the day.
I’m pretty close to 50 and still eating 6 times a day. I eat clean and exercise. If you’ve ridden with me you’ll know I eat pretty much every time we stop. I agree you need to stay active but you also need to make time to make real meals and meal-prep when you can if you can’t be home.

I'm with you there but it's still usually a fight to fall back asleep for me ... counting backwards from 100 has a 50/50 success rate.

That’s what CBD oil is for.
A small drop under the tongue a few hours before bedtime and no issues falling back to sleep.

I use the Soleil “Free” oil which has no THC.

Unfortunately all things CBD are illegal here in Aus - it's kind of weird to switch from Canada where CBD and mj were a normal and welcome part of my kids life as he declined in his cancer....then coming home to Aus.

I find melatonin really puts me out for a good sleep.

My Ozempic might have failed this last dose I took late Tuesday  Was ravenous tonight, finished the pork roast, gravy veg and mashed, then a round of profitoles with cream and ice cream and still nibbly when I got home so macadamia cookie and tea. Yikes have not felt that hungry in months and we were not sure how much was left in the pen tho it showed some at the tip. How much is in question. Hopefully this was a one off anomally.
While it was very nice to be able to finish a yummy meal and desert without hitting the satiation wall, and I had not eaten very much all day ....still a bit concerned as that almost felt like a steroids hunger.
When getting cured of lymphoma steroids were a "feature" and resulted in quite a few late night runs to A&W.
My son had the same and he sure loved to eat those last few weeks.....and I'm sitting there barely able to finised a quarter chicken.

Look at portion size , watch a movie from the 30/40s and see what a plate looked like . I dont know when the switch happened but plate fulls are FULL. Restaurant portions ( roadhouse style not fine food) are just retarded . Massive burgers and piles of fries . And since you bought it you feel obliged to eat it.

Watch a cowboy movie ( don’t eat chips) cowboys were tall and thin and rode a quarter horse ( engineered to carry 250lbs) , now dude ranches are using draught horses for rides since the cowboys are bigger.

Besides diet and health (which are both very important) I find that my attitude and behavior's have changed as I "mature".
Some for the better and some not so much.

I find my tolerance for people (crowds) is next to zero and I tend to avoid busy times/places.
I find I am not very interested in world news, I tend to stay focused on my own business and family.
I find I am more more relaxed when I drive/ride. (if I'm late, I'm late).
I find I pick my battles much more when it come to work. (I stay neutral and positive).
I find that I am ok with being alone more. (I think my wife like it that way as well...lol)
I find that I enjoy fewer things, but I enjoy those few things more.
I find that I think more before I act.
I don't fear death but, I fear being unprepared for it.
Not having kids. I think about my wife and what she'll do when I am gone. (after the party)
I find, I work very hard to ensure "I enjoy life" being and bringing happiness has become very important.

Back in the days of rabbit ear antennas chips came in one flavour and a family pack contained two separate bags inside. Now the bag is bigger, single package and gets emptied right away.

On top of that, the stores discount the price if you buy more than one bag. It makes sure you have more munchies on hand.

Speaking of draught horses, have you been to a redneck Goldwing rally recently. There is no way the factory suspension was designed for that. The trailers are for her makeup and the Cpap machines.

Ages ago I took the same route every morning to work and passed the same kid, assuming he was on his way to school, while eating his breakfast. He had a big bag of chips and a two liter Coke. The brain needs nourishment to grow. He'd be middle aged now. Is he capable of critical thinking or did he vote for the party that handed out more candy.

We're content with most things and getting rich isn't a goal. I'll take it if it comes but also worry that it would give me more things to worry about.

Agreed. The more you have, the more you have to lose..

Agree with you about Hoss and Barb being huge.

I sleep with a cpap machine. At 172 lbs.

Don't need to be a blimp on a fast food diet.

If you sleep like ****, get tested for sleep apnea.

I'd just say, be content with what you have. Still look forward to goals, but don't forget the moment.

I went from a nice new bike, to a 14 year old cheap bike, and I'm happy riding something that didn't cost $16 grand...

I'm happy with my little house (now that interest rates have skyrocketed), but still look forward to getting into something else (when the market takes a dump... if...)

No stress, and not being eyeball deep in debt is good.

My wife works in a bank. She has had a bunch of customers talking to her about suicide... a little extreme, but lack of planning, and maxing out on credit, loans, and mortgages is scary.

2 biggest stressers: money and kids.

Oh, and another thing.

I'm taking a half day today. 14°c this afternoon. I'm going riding.

Making an extra few thousand (over multiple days off) by the end of the year, or enjoying nice days and having something to reminisce about in the dead of winter...

Hmm...

Can't work all the time.

With poor financial planning you can still gain access to legacy levels of money for your kids as long as you can access a little money and survive two years. Big term life insurance policy (expensive but you only need to make two or maybe three payments on it) and take yourself out after policy has been in force for two years. Not the path most would choose but financially, that is the easiest way for most people to add a large amount to family net worth.

Most don't think that way. If you can't budget your finances when times are good, and rely on credit when times are bad... you're not thinking two years ahead.

I'm sure there is mental illness issues that are coming into play. Its alot of baggage to dump onto your banker.
