most corporations took the 2008 economic downturn as an excuse to freeze wage increases, cut wages and downsize creating a larger workload for same amount or even less$$ paid out.
Thats very true.

If the Gov. wanted to help they could reduce taxes on gas, but it's better to point the finger at the gas companies, who provide jobs and spend the money to employ people, ad agencies, pay income taxes, property taxes, licence fees, insurance and so on. While you know what you get from Gov. on their take. I dislike both of those criminal syndicates.
Oil companies not only provide jobs they pay pretty well too considering you don't need an education. Here in Calgary it seems many foreigners are getting these jobs while many Canadians are complaining of not finding work. I know of one guy that worked for 3 weeks on the rig made $2000/week and they asked him to come back after his 1 week break. He chose to fly back to Belgium instead. He can always come back to Canada to work a few weeks make some money and go back to his home country.
So if the gas is going up come to Alberta to reap the benefits. Right now it's spring break up though.
All commodities just spiked over night…expect gas prices to hit over $1.40/liter this week. USD is collapsing faster.
Expenses are higher in Calgary too.
With the lowest top marginal income tax rate and the highest basic and spousal deductions in Canada, Albertans pay low personal income taxes and Alberta is the only province with no provincial sales tax. Albertans also enjoy a publicly administered and funded health care system that guarantees universal access to necessary hospital and medical services. Alberta has among the lowest provincial gasoline tax and lowest property taxes in Canada.

I don't get where people think it's more expensive in Calgary. You don't pay an extra 8% tax. Think buying a motorcycle for 10 grand that's a $800 savings. I bought a used car and didn't have to pay a transfer fee. I'm enjoying my cheap 1 cent ribs and 15 cent wings here. Utilility is a lot cheaper and property tax is half of what I currently pay in Mississauga for the some property value. Gas is the cheapest of course at about $1.15 right now. So what is more expensive? Maybe item to item comparison Alberta maybe more expensive? All I know is my cost of living is well below what it was in Ontario and I'm actually saving over 50% of my bi-weekly paycheque despite paying rent, mortgage and utilities.
Everyone better start learning how the money expands works. That is what gas is going up like crazy. Gas is actually going down at a record pace in a precious metals.
does this mean gas prices are going to drop? or do we have to start buying KY buy the liter?
