Red_Liner740;1540268 believe me said:
True that.

There was this guy in the states who were running on Biodiesel and had a big bold sticker showing his pride. They slapped him with a fat ticket and took him to court for evading taxes, lol

Another way around the problem;

Yea right, going back to cottage industry will never happen with all the rules and regs.

Do you have Health and safety program in place for making those shoes?
Does your cow have all up to date information on it.
bah, what am i talking about, they'll tax you so high on the "methane" production of the cow that it wont be economical to keep one.

believe me, its ALL a tax grab. So many ppl were switchin to electric cars, that in some US counties they want to exact an "electrical car fee". They cant collect gas tax from ya, they gotta squeeze you somehow.

Exactly. If anyone watched the documentary " Who Killed the Electric Car ? " a lot of it is answered. More or less though, it all comes down to taxes, and how much the government can squeeze it out of you. Even mechanics that worked on the " Volt " the first real electric car, said it was great. All he had to do was rotate the tires, check the battery, and put in an air filter, done deal. No oil changes, no engine tunings, none of that garbage. It was funny how GM was told to build this car, just to appear " eco-friendly " and when it actually succeeded, oil companies and even the President at the time shut everything right down, destroyed all the cars that were created, and said no to the people that WANTED to buy the cars. What other car company can really say they had hundreds of people petitioning to buy a car, but the company said no.

Two Roosevelt dimes contain 0.14468 oz of silver. If gas costs $4 in FRNs, then the implicit price of silver that makes $4 equivalent to 0.14468 oz of silver is $27.65 per ounce. So, this price seems roughly in the ballpark. But, if we take $35, which is nearer today’s silver’s price, then the implied price of gasoline is $5.06, which is steep. At any price less than $5.06, I’d hold on to the dimes and use FRNs. One has to be careful about these things. One also needs a conversion table. This could be sold as an application on a handheld device. I’m giving away a profitable idea here. The device could read in the spot price of silver from a web site. The user punches in the FRN price. Then the equivalent amount of silver coin is the output.

Dude, the price is going down tomorrow

thanks to gas prices i'm running 87 octane in my R6... surprisingly with no noticeable difference in terms of performance or engine noise no knocks or pings..

Just keep your ears open when the weather gets warmer. The other risk is that you may not hear preignition at higher RPMS.

I killed my 5.0 V8 with preignition at 6000 RPM. I was running 94 octane with 13.5:1 compression. Collapsed 3 pistons. Didn't hear a thing until I got home and the dipstick was up against the hood and oil down the firewall. Blow-by could suspend a tennis ball.
