Fishing is animal torture

Some people waste it by hanging it on a wall.

Stuffing real fish is not as commonplace as it used to be. Taxidermists make replicas of your released catch from photos.

The way animals are killed in factory farms isn't bad..it's extremely quick and efficient (duh its a factory). It's the way they are treated up to that point that is "inhumane."

You wouldn't believe how often the bolt gun fails. I knew a guy who worked at Better Beef on the killing floor, so I'll take his word for it.

If you're talking to me, I posting this and more in the thread about the guys getting tickets for fishing. I was responding to what the poster said the judge said. The mods (gods) I guess disagreed with me posting it there and deleted my posts twice. The third time the mod (god) started this thread with my post.

Ok no problem I was just wondering.

You guys are hilarious....if we were to eat only free range, naturally grown, humanely killed animals and fish the price of food would SKYROCKET, there would be riots on the streets.

I hate to break it to ya boys, but meat and food doesnt just magically appear at the grocery store. A lot of you have been totally isolated from the natural way of KILLING an animal and eating it.

While I'm in this thread, how do you guys kill fish when you catch them? I was taught to take the knife, go under the kills and poke the brain stem. Always worked well, but everyone I've talked to up north does it different ways. Thoughts?

I wonder how you feel about Ducks Unlimited then. It's the biggest (to my knowledge) non-government organisation that works towards preserving and restoring wetlands. No other "green" organisation comes close. Sure, it's almost all hunters that support it, but it's not just so there is a place to hunt, it's to preserve what we have for the next generation. This is what ethical people who enjoy the outdoors do. This is also what sport fishermen are supposed to do.
I grew up being taught how to respect the environment. I pack out what I pack in (trash etc.) and don't leave things like spare line left. It all comes back in for me to get rid of properly.

I love the outdoors. I love animals (seriously, my house growing up was like a zoo). And I have a pretty big interest in living things and eco-systems. I recently went out west with work and there was one of those tree hugger types in our group. She started the week off in bashing hunters not realizing there were a few of us in the group. By the end of the week, this know it all realized she didn't know much and each time she saw an animal she ended up coming to these experienced outdoors people when she had a question.

I pointed on what commercial fishing leaves behind, and you illustrated that, so I'm not disagreeing you about that. But, it's irrelevant to this conversation, unless you're supporting sport fishing as a better way for people to get their fish.

I wonder how much time these "greenies" spend in the outdoors and how educated they really are about the subject.

Their Macbooks can't get plugged in, their iPhone loses reception and converse/vans don't do well in the bog.

Have one of those little clubs. One good whack to the head and they're out.
The butt end of my fillet knife also does the trick if they're still alive when I pull them out of the bucket on to the cleaning board.

Weirdest one I've seen so far is a guy that fishes with a hatchet on him and just beheads them right in the boat.

Sweet, someone else bow hunts on here ^_^

Already posted earlier but to kill fish usually I just poke my thumb through their gills and snap their neck.
