There was a 2nd quake in Nepal & thousands died. Nobody care about that but everybody cares about a bimbo getting her feelings hurt

Dude, the Nepal quake did not happened in TO.
Torontonians don't care about anything much that happens in Canada, much less the world.
They are almost like Americans now.

I don't see why people are surprised that sexual harassment or admitting on TV that you think sexual harassment is funny can get you fired. Its pretty much in any jobs code of conduct. Once it became public who his employer was he then publicly became a representative for the culture of that company. This is the reality of digital recording devices everywhere and the spread of information the internet has created. This is the new reality.

Its not like he was secretly recorded there was a big XD cam there. He decided to publicly state that he thought sexual harassment was funny. He opened himself up to the consequences of his actions.

I'm reminded of the Mark Twain quote “It's better to keep your mouth shut and appear stupid than open it and remove all doubt”. He forced his employer into a position where they had to acknowledge that this employee thinks sexual harassment is both funny and acceptable. Walk into HR and tell them that you think sexual harassment is hilarious. See what happens.

Bill C-51 passed and most CANADIANS dont even know what a disaterous bill that is for all of us and our civil rights. But this nonsense is all over the news. Kepping the sheeple distracted with petty bs while flocking the herd in whatever direction they want.

SUE him? Community service?!? For what? Offending someone? LOL that's bloody hilarious.

His employer fired his *** because they didn't want to be associated with him, but that's the end of the line.

I didnt say they would win. I said they have the right to sue him if they want but the employer should have no right to fire him for this.

This nonsense is worse for us in the long run. It's us messing with ourselves. Keep your thoughts to yourself or face the consequences.

You have always been subject to consequences for publicly stating offensive positions. Nothing has changed in that regard. What has changed is that harassment of women in public or the workplace is no longer accepted by society.

This is worse than a federal law that allows the government to spy on all our private communications with impunity? Against our right (in the charter) to privacy? Turning Canada into a new republican American with NSA collecting meta data in bulk? Oh wait, even the US supreme court ruled that unconstitutional last week which mean we are ahead of the U.S is lack of civil rights. Thats a horrifying statement to make.

Seriously?!

We have very different perspectives in life!

The Government has always spied on people.

Now we're doing it to each other, then performing character assassinations without any due process or consequences.

Didn't all parties support the bill?

Governments may have done small scaled spying but not on their own citizens for the most part or only on citizens they had a suspicious on. They would have to get a court order to wiretap their phone and ...youre right. But it was always illegal and against the western "free world" constitution/charter of rights. This is what you expect a third world dictatorship to do not Canada. However now they are openly doing it and calling it legal with a slap on our faces.

And no, NDP opposed it for the most part. Liberals were the ones who jumped on the bandwagon as they flip flop on a daily basis and at the end, voted for it.

When a stupid kid does something like that, we can hold him responsible, fire him, shame hi and ... When the almighty government frees itself of all chains and starts running wild, who is going to control it?

Scary path Canada is on if you ask me.

Canada has a socialist view. Why would you be surprised they're spying on you. It's like a relationship between a parent & child. Give me your $$ so I can take care of it for you. You're dating someone? I gotta spy on you so you don't get hurt

An employer has the right to fire a worker for any reason and even no reason at all. The only thing at question is how much notice or pay in lieu of notice must be given, and this is where firing with cause or without cause comes in. Even if fired without cause, required severance pay is pretty minimal.

I'm surprised news stations, don't do nightly segments with all of the daily FHRITP and detail the idiot's names/home area/place-of-work.

This way, people will think twice about saying obscenities on live TV. The reporters need to make an example out of a few, and these idiots will be character assassinated by other media outlets, family, friends and co-workers.

This is even worse than a criminal record.

I've changed my mind on this. If I was running things over at Hydro One I'd throw him out. Take out the trash. Of course I would be credited with taking my time and listening to both sides.

No..because the C word is 'offensive'

after watching the video if the dumbass just kept his sunglasses on no one would have known who he is.

That wasn't the guy. They're still intensely searching for the others, unless they found another one.
