F1 Thread!!!

perez is allowed to move over to block.

Negative .... by F1 rules you have to pick a line and you cannot change it. He picked outside clearly, but according to F1 he moved inside and that's how Massa's front right tire got clipped, causing the crash.

As much as Massa is a boob at passing people, it was clear to me with the first replay that Perez jerked the wheel left after Massa was already pointing his nose in there.

negative on the negative.

your allowed to make 1 blocking maneuver when being overtaken.

rule 20.3
FIA F1 rule book

I am going to say you have this wrong .... you have to see a context of the situation ..... block someone far from turn-in point once is fine (like on the back straight) and within the rule, but once you pick a line, you cannot flip flop few meters before turn-in ... there would be a carnage all the time, at those corner speeds they do in F1.

after watching it again...
it was a right turn then left turn

perez picked his line through the (exaggerated)chicane and followed it. I don't think he checked his mirrors when he moved over for the second half.
the rules say if massa has his wing beside perez' rear wheel, then perez has to give space.
perez guilty.

i still not convinced about the line through the turn. People change their lines mid turn all the time.

Hello my little bunnies! :bunny:

Princess's Man drove by 99 Sudbury this afternoon, and guess what's there? Red Bull's F1 car. It's just parked there on the sidewalk. At first Princess's Man thought it was fake, but found out it's for a Jason Priestley event.
Anyway, just thought I'd share to all my bunnies! :bunny:

A little off subject but do any of you know any cable channels available in Canada that will be showing the 24 hours of Lemans this weekend?

I don't .... but your best bet is just to download. you can get it in all flavors ... different parts of the day as well as highlights which I prefer. It's tiring to be waiting for cable offerings.

It's been on tour around here for a while. A friend of mine might have not gotten in it while it was in a warehouse between trailers.

It's surprising the lack of ***** given when transporting it. It came in a regular cargo trailer and then got loaded onto a flatbed, in the rain, without a cover.

How else would you expect to transport the car? Flatbed or trailer is the best and most sensible option. it probably needed a car wash so they let it go with no cover ... It's not Italian so rain will not mess up the electronics ... LOL

They don't send out an actual working F1 car (current or previous year) for displays. It's a mock-up. Anything visible is either non conforming parts or parts that didn't pass testing.......sorta like Acura's NSX concept car.

Mock up? Even for a Jason Priestley event?!

Foolish to believe that any of those display cars you see at events and auto shows are real. Far from it. (Unless you have connections to a rich F1 Collector who has real F1 cars but they likely be decommissioned and a few years old)

There are a few companies that make show cars. They can be bought or rented.

There have been several REAL F1 cars making the rounds over the last few years. Ferrari and McLaren are ones I have seen. Generally they were the previous year cars.

Those are demonstrations by the teams, supervised by them, with team techs and drivers. They don't drop off real cars to be parked in front of bars unsupervised.

Why not? Or is Jason Priestley such a name now?

Option 1 - Wee hours misread, thought he meant Judas Priest

Option 2 - Sarcasm 404 not found
