F1 Thread!!!

I guess using a 5 year old test car makes more sense then spending buttloads of money to build a fake to look exactly like it, down to the everything, including the whole body, carbon everything, wear marks, cable rub, and serial numbers.

But I suppose that would be all too logical.

I'm not too upset by the prospect of losing Monza. Sure, it's got heritage, but to me it always makes for terrible racing, like Australia. High speed, narrow track, not much opportunity for passing or fighting your way out of a bad position. Of course Ecclestone is not concerned with these things, and as usual is playing hardball in order to line his own pockets.

Well, that's dumb. It makes heat management even more complicated, and it doubles the chances of breaking stuff that gets hammered on a launch. I can sort of understand wanting to making things more "exciting", but not by re-rolling the dice on a mechanical failure.
If they're going to do a re-start, they might as well red flag after every incident.
saftey car laps would be pointless.

Typical negotiating ploy from Bernie to get them to update the circuit like he did with Silverstone. Really enjoyed seeing the F1 cars on revamped "Red Bull" Ring. We need to keep these real race tracks. If they can race at Monte Carlo they can race at Monza, Bernie just wants a bigger cut of the action.

Meh, nice scenery in Austria but 8 corners doesn't make for that exciting if a track......

Hammy. Qualy. Muppett.

Somebody needs to paste some donkey ears on his helmet for tmrws race.

Yes, maybe even more embarrassing than Ferrari and Williams blowing it in Q1.

Not the first time weather and luck impacting the outcome of qually.

This was and still is his opportunity to get an upper hand on Rosberg. He will be taking no prisoners on the first lap. Should be a great race. I am not a Hammy fan but it will be a crash or win race for him.

That was a lot of on-track racing today.
Alonso vs Vettle was fun to watch (especially the two complaining about each other for white line infractions)

Well the moment, Rosberg's car went 5th gear only, there was not much left to watch ... except for Vettel vs Alonso scrap.

I don't understand this "track limit" violation at Copse .... either make the curbs that the driver will "pay" once leaving the track beyond the curb, or let everyone go past the curb. This was bizarre .. if it was China track, OK, but right in the core of motor racing at Silverstone at very high speed turn, it made no sense to me why they let the situation get to that point.

Well, I kind of agree with him. I didn't even realize it took that long, because I record races and just fast forward through the fluff/dull sections. I guess I kind of prove Nikki's point ....
