F1 Thread!!!

That's a damn shame, he will never heal up in time for the start of the season.

Hey what ever happened to Kimi R.? I know he's a sour little pric but I loved his driving style.

Last I heard, Kimi is continuing in WRC from last year(World Rally Championship). I think the first event is actually next week. They don't seem to show it on tv here, so you could probably find and download some torrents if you're that eager.

I am pretty shocked that Kubica's F1 contract allows him to engage in WRC in the off-season. It's a one thing if a motoGP guy decides to jump on his dirt bike and crashes on a private lot, but it's all another matter when he's a part of an official race.

Hopefully Kubica will fully recover from the crash (he lost a lot of blood and suffered multiple fractures, incl. a nasty wrist break on the almost amputated hand). Sadly, I doubt he will ever be the same driver again.

They have brought Kubica out of the induced coma. He's talked to his family. The hand is warm to the touch, and he can move his fingers. Both great signs.

He's got his own WRC team.

However with Kubica's seat up for grabs, who knows. Lotus Renault GP I think previously said that they have a large number of test drivers they would draw from, but that doesn't make sense - especially considering they'd only have a month to prep one of them. I think it's more likely they'll try and grab someone who's already raced.

Ahhh, I was wondering how he damaged his R side when he was driving from the L side of the car. Also, it looks like a very small mistake combined with a catch fence designed for traffic going in the opposite direction = big crash.

Thank for the link.

Boohoo...... Season opener Bahrain race cancelled!

The three most boring sectors in racing. Tilke is a hack. Good riddance I say.

What are you saying? His tracks are designed to create more overtaking opportunities and thus more exciting racing :sleepy4: We're just yet to see it, that's all.

Get the matchsticks ready for your eyelids this weekend. Qualifying being shown on TSN at 1.55am Sat morning.

Still a die hard F1 fan, but this is the least interested i've ever been in the sport. Hopefully that will change, as long as Alonso doesn't win it's all good ;)

Never were truer words spoke. Arrogant little so n so. But I have to admit a bit of grudging respect as he worked his way up through the pack last season, he'll make a damn fine driver...one of these days.
I'm hoping the new tires are going to throw a curve that will shake things up so it's all not so predicable.

That's how I felt before the beginning of the season last year, but then it turned out to be a decent season. I've been watching as long as I can remember, and there have been slumps before, but I'm looking forward to this season because of the short-life tires. Should at least make for interesting action. (fingers crossed hoping for no parades). That and the fact that it seems there will be more teams fighting for podiums.

This F1 season is a mess. Movable wing, driver can only use at certain sector of the wheel, tires which are designed purposely to loose 0.2 per lap ... all of this supposed to produce better racing which didn't really show. Vettel running away with it like he did at the end of the last season.

The best shot was two guys on the straight way, everybody expects the rear wing to do its magic reducing drag etc. and pulling the car ahead, yet nothing happens .... it felt awkward.

Give the guys cars from late 80s and you will get some racing ....

i +1 this

talked to a friend about the same thing last night... F1 of late has become rather stagnant. 90% of the time the pole driver runs away with the race... There is no racing anymore, all they do is hot lap for 50+ laps...

Watching Prost, Senna, Mansfield etc race... now thats racing. 50+ laps of white knuckle driving. How can F1 go back to those days?

Maybe Bernie's idea to turn sprinklers on when the racing gets boring ain't so bad a idea...lol.
I was excited to watch...not so much to watch at 2am but 8am...1/2hr later wished I'd stayed in bed.
Same ole same ole.
