The ghost of Kevin won't disappear until I tear down the house, and rebuild from scratch. The ghost of Kevin still lurking about eh, I would have thought with all the work done you would have eradicated him by now.
And even then he'll screw you. There will be concrete tailings in at least a pit or two somewhere you least expect it. Probably wrapped around your sewer or gas line. The ghost of Kevin won't disappear until I tear down the house, and rebuild from scratch.
Apparently he did some magic metal mixing underneath the lower bathroom…neighbour told me if I ever do some work there to prepare for a surprise….And even then he'll screw you. I love previous owners... not only do they drop bikes, now I'm learning they they fail to oversee common sense home improvements! That's because you did it. Mine was installed by some "professionals" for a previous owner. I don't even have a map of what is installed. I think I know where all the heads are but if some were deeply buried when I bought the house, I may not. I raised the heads in one line this year. It was more work than I expected. I will do another line or two next year and that should let me know if I have seen all the heads.
I never use antifreeze for the sprinklers. I use a bit for the pool plumbing but have no idea if that's required or just cheap insurance. I guess I could scope the pipes to look for standing water but it doesn't seem worth the effort.
I think this is what he did according to the neighbour.View attachment 63194
My fave is galvanized to copper - kinda like looking underneath a 80's Ford.
What did u do with the raccoon?Put the soffit back up that the fat raccoon fell through. Soffit guy said I should cut the fascia behind the eavestrough, drop the soffit, put up the j mold, put up the soffit, put new fascia up. That seemed far more complicated and expensive than was necessary. Bought a new stick of J-mold, fit it along the dropped soffit, pushed it up and secured. A little fiddly but not too bad. Done. I had bought a 10' stick and the fat turd has destroyed 12' so I cut 2' out of the old piece that was still straight.
She (probably she) was scared away by a radio and decided to be somewhere else. Cameras in attic spaces now. Makes it easier to check for invaders. What did u do with the raccoon?
I had a mouse in the attic a couple of years ago. Set up 3 mouse traps. The one camera I had at the time only captured 2 of the 3 traps in its view. She (probably she) was scared away by a radio and decided to be somewhere else. Cameras in attic spaces now. Makes it easier to check for invaders.
Mice occasionally eat the bait i have left to attract attic raccoons to specific locations. More mouse traps and a revised bait location are part of the attic renovations.I had a mouse in the attic a couple of years ago. Set up 3 mouse traps. Murphy's law, the 3rd trap was the one that did the beheading.
Ours is two layers of plastic. No idea if there is insulation between, probably not, air is cheaper. It has been used once while we owned the house. With a hot tub and a normal tub the kids used, our tub looks pretty and is used as a drying rack.We never use the jets in a corner jacuzzi bath tub. The thing just needs constant cleaning out in the nozzles. It takes up a ton of space with the surround and tiled front and I can’t get to the faucets and hand shower that badly need replacing so we booked a contractor to come in and get rid of it, replace it with a freestanding tub and redo the floor area and plumbing. The thing is so big he’ll need to cut it into bits to remove it easily.
It should get us a bit more space in a small bathroom and give me peace of mind with respect to access to shut off valves for faucets etc.
Are free standing tubs insulated at all so the water in the tub doesn’t cool too quickly? Doesn’t look like it to me but thought it might be a thing.
Forget the contractor. If you have a pulse and a sawzall you can do it.I suspect very few of any corner tubs would be insulated. Decent contractor and a recipro saw and he’s got it in the bin in a hour or so .

I was once asked to design a heating cable to put around a tub. The guy liked to soak until he became a prune. The design wasn't too hard but we weren't sure about CSA and ESA approvals.I know for sure the existing one isn’t insulated. Just wondered if replacement free standing tubs might be, I thought it might be a thing.
I could demo it myself but this guy isn’t that expensive and he takes all the stuff away. It’s just less hassle to have everything done by one person.
