Enough of COVID...what are you doing to the house?

I was once asked to design a heating cable to put around a tub. The guy liked to soak until he became a prune. The design wasn't too hard but we weren't sure about CSA and ESA approvals.

I wouldn't recommend a sous vide heater.

I have a habit of reading books in the bath and I have a habit of not being able to put a good book down. Plenty of times I got out of the bath looking like a prune with hypothermia.

Don't make the mistake my parents did. They bought a bubble tub with heaters. WIthout heaters, temp drops fast. Turns out that a bubble tub is noot what you expect. It is loud and not relaxing and they never use it. I have no idea if the heaters would keep temp up, they are a decent size.

She (probably she) was scared away by a radio and decided to be somewhere else. Cameras in attic spaces now. Makes it easier to check for invaders.

Further attic modifications to come soon. Need to screw down the soffit where she was entering (i fixed a few and she made more entrances) and install one more camera in an attic space i have to access through the soffit. Will likely build a hatch in the soffit to ease access for the next time.
'She' won't scare easily. My experience is they never leave, no matter how scary you are. Raccoons are drawn back to the places they know, scare them off and they return and try again. Hopefully, your's has comfortably relocated in a neighbours roof.

If you have a hatch, toss in a few moth balls near the places they can reach -- they won't come near those.

I’m guessing like free standing soaker tubs there are about a million corner jacuzzi tubs taking up space . Fortune to fill , loud and annoying, huge pita to clean .
Modern design is not always good design .

Our soaker is definitely more art than bathing appliance. People expect them, very few use them.

No more bubble or jacuzzi baths. You’re right, they took an age to fill and we thought we would like the jets when we got it. Used it a few times and then never used the jets again. We will get a decent free standing modern looking bathtub and free up some space in the bathroom.

We had a corner soaker tub in our previous/first house. It was used a few times when we first moved and and were freshly married. ;)
Than the novelty wore off.
Took it out during a bathroom reno and put in a free standing tub. Wife used it once and I never got around to it as we moved out a few months after the reno.

Current house also has an annoying corner soaker tub. Doesn't get used anymore as we are not longer freshly married.

Both bathrooms need to be renovated and part of the dilemma is, which bathroom should get the new tub, and which one gets the shower only. Kids don't care for a tub as they are of the age that they can just take a quick shower. I don't care for tub in the master bath as it takes up valuable space. Out master bath is not very big anyways. Together with the walk in closet, they are the like the black sheep of the entire house, poor layout/design.
Several neighbours told us that they considered out house when buying from the builder but changed their mind once they saw the ensuite layout.

Builders put these corner tubs in as a "luxury" item but 90% of homeowners don't use them and end up ripping them out.

On that front, when we were looking at houses, the sellers were primarily old couples downsizing. Most had new 40 gallon rental hot water heaters. That served the needs of the owners. Almost useless for the stupid corner tubs though.

After doing some work yesterday in the shed (new and old) I realized that I'll need some lights inside of the new shed.

Option #1 - Solar panel with internal LED light that can be turned on by a remote / switch

Option #2 - Create temporary (don't feel like digging currently) connection via extension cord to new shed. This would be only to turn on lights inside of the new shed as winter is coming, it's getting darker, and when the snow blower goes in it's an electric start. Don't plan on connecting the outlets, although I'll install them to futureproof before it gets full of junk.

Recommendations? obviously #1 won't allow me to start the snowblower, but I can just run an extension cord to start and off I go.

I have one solar light in the garage to light a path when you arrive in the dark. It is a motion sensor floodlight. Works fine. You could repurpose to other shed or blind side of your house once power is done.

I haven't had rodents chew extension cords. They do like to eat off parts of my string lights though.

If you are bothering with wiring the shed, I would hook that male generator receptacle up to the shed wiring. The shed is generator powered if questioned. Then all receptacles and lights work from day one.
