Mine accidentally fell off so I coiled it up and tied it to the post to keep from running over it with the mower.I'm with oioioi. Technically bell's property. If I wanted to do it without them, I would detach from my house and leave the coil on their pole. If you cut it, they could charge you. Hell, if you disconnect it and they find out, they could as a they would have to reconnect a future homeowner.
A neighbour's wife didn't like it that the Bell cable ran diagonally over their patio to an adjacent house. It took her forever to get it moved. I don't think anyone wanted another pole so it just ran through their garden.Technically that is Bell's property so it should not be touched without their consent.
Are you sure none of it is being used for your house.
What internet service so you have now?
Honestly the lift is probably worth it saves all that climbing up and down scaffolding consider it like an extra person and a thousand a week doesn't look so badAnyone know of, or has, a good place to rent scaffold?
Genie - 1000/week
Trying to look at other options.
Probably 2-3 weeks and the highest wall is 17ft…so around 13-14ft off the ground. How long do you need it for and how much of it? I have a buddy that has a bunch. He runs a demolition company.
For 95% of your project I wouldn't want to use a baker (and would probably use a ladder not a baker for the remaining 5%).Probably 2-3 weeks and the highest wall is 17ft…so around 13-14ft off the ground.
My dad has those yellow ones also, but just the one platform and not the outriggers.
Slightly awkward but not impossible. His bottom row of tyvek will start 9' above ground. That means furring and insulation need to be done that high as well prior to starting siding.Do all the lower sections without a zoom lift first , then rent for the uppers ?

The one I have is not exactly a bakers scaffold. Don't know what brand but it a slightly different size and cannot be combined with a typical bakers.Probably 2-3 weeks and the highest wall is 17ft…so around 13-14ft off the ground.

This is the plan.Do all the lower sections without a zoom lift first , then rent for the uppers ?

Didn't consider scaffold around the entire house at once. I'm looking on Kijiji for some solutions to this. For 95% of your project I wouldn't want to use a baker (and would probably use a ladder not a baker for the remaining 5%).
The trick with the genie is getting the base positioned properly so you can reach work area. You can easily end up with a chewed up lawn (and/or or many hundreds in plywood on the ground). I am assuming by genie you mean zoom boom and not scissor lift.
Personally I would probably just get scaffold and wrap the house with it. Should be cheaper than the genie but allows you lots of flexibility. You and your dad could work separately or together on the scaffold, your wife could join in if she wants. Lots of room and options. As for saving trips up and down a ladder, imo you will pushing material up from the ground either into scaffold or a lift. It's really slow to drop to reload the lift. Scaffold allows you to load for an entire day before everybody climbs up. 17' is slightly awkward. I would probably use two rows of 5' frames and blocking/tall screw jacks to get the top deck to 11'. If you use 6'4" frames for the bottom row, the top ends in a good spot but you may end up using a two step to do the top few rows from the ground.
When truck drops off material, see if you can convince the driver to drop some of it in the back yard. Not sure what equipment they will have or if they will do it but it saves you a few thousand steps.
There's a reason MOL doesn't like ladders. Nothing delays a job like a broken bone.Didn't consider scaffold around the entire house at once. I'm looking on Kijiji for some solutions to this.
I'm not comfortable doing ladder work that high up, terrible fear of heights.
and yes...zoom boom, not the scissor lifts as we can position the zoom along the beautiful concrete Kevin did...and just extend out as needed.
As for your last point in bold...genius. but I don't think they'll take it off with anything other than a fork lift. But I'm hoping to be around for it.
MOL doesn't actually allow work on a ladder. They're supposed to be only used for accessing a work area, not to actually be used for working in my understanding. There's a reason MOL doesn't like ladders. Nothing delays a job like a broken bone.
Can you buy some used scaffolding and resell it when the job is done? It takes the time pressure off, especially if you need think time or family happens.
