Enough of COVID...what are you doing to the house?

Funny…that’s what my neighbour said.

I have some door painting to do as well and am looking at marine paints. There is a type and process "Roll and tip off" that is almost spray finish. Airless spray is an option but the sprayer I want is $1000 + tax.
This process works with oil based paints, I paint boats using this method.

Oil paints naturally level, try always finish smoother than water based.

I use Solignum marine from CTC for all indoor and outdoor gloss painting. Colors are limited, fortunately I only use black and white.

Kids were out, so Sue painted the deck, I finally moved everything in the garage around (again) and swept out the garage.

Last time I moved everything in preparation, but the empty space was filled before I could clean it the next day.

Still have to wash the horse mats that I pulled outside, and put them back.

Pool was losing 2 inches of water a day found the leak. Had to crawl under the deck and glue a return jet back in looks like it was never glued right but somehow held for years. Hope it holds now.

Looking forward to doing that under a newly installed path later this year. Wife is going to kill me when I dig it up.

Walk-in 5x5’ pantry started with base cabinets in and trimmed up. Shelves going in later this week and will stain the top to match them. May put some crown molding at the top as it’s 9’ ceiling and may look like too much open space above shelves.
My OCD is kicking in for the corner cabinet as the door can’t be adjusted any further and is lower than the others and middle gap still too large. Doesn’t look like enough room to redrill new holes for hinges.
Speaking of OCD, I know I’m not the only one but I’ll ask, how many here have screws for power/switches faceplates all oriented the same (slot in screws all going same way)?

Would a metal plate and magnet hold up the crooked side enough?

When you say oriented the same, do you mean the angle of the screw slots?

Yup, the slots all the same way.

A small L-bracket (or Z-bracket) on the bottom could work too. Something for the door to sit on. Shouldn't be visible with the door closed.

I assume he means vertical/horizontal screw slots (or do some heathens orient them the same way at another angle?).

Looks good

My screws are the same way, but you could at least plumb the fricken plate you infidel.

Why do you think the plate is out of plumb? I don't see an external reference line. Camera was shooting down at an angle so the sides of the plate arent parallel to the sides of the image.

It's my super power.

I could do better with my eyes closed.
If the pros are doing that, I can show you my kid's work. All he had to do was open the door:

Now we've got to repaint the trim as well, and we don't know the colour.

Edit: p.s. @mimico_polak It would be better if the wood all met properly at the fenceposts, they're off just enough to be uncomfortable, and what happened to the red bottom on the one side, and the toprails?

No clue. Not my house.

Someone looks to have bought it for a quick flip…oops.
