Enough of COVID...what are you doing to the house?

Id love one of those on our deck….

Not sure if it needs a permit though. And my neighbour seems like the type to call it in.

I sunk 6x6 timbers into the ground on an 8x14 spacing. The roof overhangs 2' on the front, 4' on the sides, it's tied in using hurricane ties do it's not going anywhere.

1) Get them as hot as you can, scrub them with a steel brush
2) Spray them with EasyOff oven cleaner and let it work.
3) If they are still a bit crusty, get a shallow pan and some Muriatic acid from a hardware store. Dip them for 5 minutes and they will be as clean as they can get.

Front door got painted. Gardiner came out took pictures of our plants and weeds, and named them. Told us what should come out and go in, and where. We're compiling a list of what we want, and where. Washer got fixed. It was the pressure sensor. Fridge circuit board was also replaced from the blackout. Planning on building a generator silencer box for the next blackout with the youngest. Anybody have any know how? I've seen some plans on Youtube. At some point I want to rent a stump grinder, but they might be scarce at the moment.

Eww is that grandpa Bundy's ashes in the bottom?

What style of generator? Short answer is heavier is better, enclosure shouldnt touch generator, you cant see the generator from anywhere outside of the box and no gaps (even tiny gaps will dramatically reduce performance). It seems simple at first but it is possible to make it louder as the silencer box can act as a speaker.

I’ve got projects piling up here around the house but will have to start soon.

How’d you paint the front door @Baggsy? Looks like ours, and the garage door need painting.

I’ve got to dig a 2x2x2 hole on Sunday as my neighbour has a berry bush that he wants gone so we will transplant it to our house.

Don't forget it can't restrict air flow or cooling easiest is 3 side and roof with acoustic foam eggcrate type lined panels opening facing away from house.

Yeah, airflow is important. You can maintain airflow with a labyrinth path but the box is getting pretty big as you need a large cross section to minimize pressure drop. You can attach a larger muffler too that can help with noise. Need to know where we are starting from though. It is easier to start from an inverter and make a small improvement that a big open frame and try and get a large improvement.

Youngest got a small roller and a paintbrush. We need to paint the doorframe now, as it used to all be a different colour. Not sure why he didn't open the door or use some painter's tape that we have lying around somewhere. The good news is that he's gotten really good at matching colours.

It's great for a first attempt, but we'll have to sand well before doing it again.

Don't point the open side at a wall or it will come back at you too. My neighbour still doesn’t understand why his 6ft fence isn’t really helping lower the sound of his AC unit…because the sound is bouncing back and forward against his house wall which is 20ft until it crosses over the fence and then onto our walls/windows.

It's not an inverter. Looks like it has a muffler already on it, but the baffles seem inadequate.
Also looks like there is a spot to attach something to the spark arrestor.

Not sure I have the spouse points for an inverter, and I'd probably rather spend them on a snowblower.

I have some door painting to do as well and am looking at marine paints. There is a type and process "Roll and tip off" that is almost spray finish. Airless spray is an option but the sprayer I want is $1000 + tax.
I typically use a sponge roller for doors / trim. Not going to pay for a sprayer for 2 doors.

The garage door will get the foam roller as texture isn’t as important.
