Electricians in the house?

It is no a blanket statement. If you are doing electrical work without a 309 or a 442a you are not legal and that is the law Did you not read the act.You need not be an electrician to get A masters license but you do need a C OF Q to do electrician in Ontario. The master is nothing more than an endorsement Are you an electrician or not? What are you qualifications?I bet you not licensed to work in Ontario are you? This is COMMON knowledge and to sit there and demand that this is a real license when I have given you the act and threads from a professional  electrical contractors forum is laughable.<br>I only edited my post because I somehow cut and pasted Section 6 of the ELECTRICITY ACT to the beginning of the post. Here it is again, please read it one more time. You cant argue with it but you will try im sure<br><br>http://www.e-laws.gov.on.ca/html/source/regs/english/2005/elaws_src_regs_r05570_e.htm<br> <br><br>

A master electrician is not a qualified electrician and cannot do any electrical work period.

^^^ That is a blanket statement that isn't true of ALL master electricians.

You should have written... "Some master electricians, are not qualified as they do not hold a valid C of Q, and thus, cannot do any electrical work period.

I'd like to see you finish the course "in 1 day", then write the 3 hour exam and pass!

.

Come on thats all you have to say?The course is one day and the exam the next. But you can order the package and only show up for the exam if you wish at half the cost because Its just an endorsement and nothing more.

A lot of people come to this country saying they were electricians back home and either are given a licence or only need to write the test.

I worked with a man from Pakistan who thought because i could stick a robertson screw on on the end of my drill without it easily falling off I was magic. He had is 309A and 442.
He couldnt screw a wood screw in a 2x4 with my drill, the wood was too hard. He couldnt even get the lamps in a flour. 2x4 fixture without blowing something up.

Gnu
ARE YOU HIGH?THE 442A IS A 9000HR APPRENTICESHIP AND THE 309A IS A 8000 HOUR APPRENTICESHIP THATS AT 2000HRS A YEAR.I DID IT IN 6 BECAUSE THEY GAVE ME CREDIT FOR THE IP LICENSE YOU DON'T EVEN KNOW HOW MANY HOUR ARE IN AN A C OF Q LICENSE

I IT IS APPARENT YOU TWO CLOWNS ARE WORKING UNDER THE TABLE ILLEGALLY AND ARE TO STUPID TO KNOW WHEN TO KEEP YOU MOUTHS SHUT.
WHAT C OF Q DO YOU HAVE?NONE JUST LIKE YOU PAL.I CAN BACK UP MY STATEMENTS WITH LEGISLATION YOU CAN ONLY TALK **** AND YOU KNOW IT.GO TO ANY CONTRACTOR FORUM AND SPOUT YOUR GARBAGE AND COME BACK AND HERE AND SHOW ME WHAT THEY SAY YOU FRAUD!

I TRIED LIKE HELL TO BE NICE

Insulting forum members. Is that the ban hammer I hear?

Wow..there's a lot of electrical angst in here..open a window!! :-)

Just want to put in my two cents. You must have an ESA/ECRAlicence to perform electrical work, to get that licence you must have a Masters Licence plain and simple.Any licenced electrician, even with 30 years experience, doing work on the side can face a $50,000 fine if he doesn't have that ESA/ECRA licence. That is the law.Forget using the 3 phase panel. My experience is that most houses are fine with a 100 amp panel.I have a 100 amp service with a 60 amp sub panel in the garage that runs a compressor,5kw heater and will run most welders. If you don't have a basement apartment or a ten man hot tub you can save yourself a pile of money by replacing your fuse panel with a 100 amp breaker panel.Judging by your pictures that would be a very good investment, and yes I am a licenced master electrician with my ESA/ECRA licence and 3o years experience. You can pull the permit yourself and get an electrician without an ESA/ECRA licence to do the work but technically that is illegal and could be fined.Best to get a licenced contractor to do it.You could probably get a 100 amp fuse panel replaced with a 100 amp breaker panel for about $800-$1000 including permit. Don't try this yourself,it's not worth it. Good luck.
