Electric biker ran a red light...

^ actually you should call the cops on them - even on a bicycle it's illegal to be drunk.

as for the OP, if you wouldn't have been swearing at the kid I think you prob would've had a better chance to get thru his thick skull that his mother would've attended a funeral was it not for your son's ability to swerve. I agree with you, tho - I think it's infuriating the lack of knowledge these e-biker riders have - seems even less than bicyclists. I think it's yet other group altogether who otherwise wouldn't bicycle, so they know even less the rules of the road.

E-bikes are for people who are too fat/lazy to bike and get exercise, and too poor/ignorant to ride a motorcycle. Worst combination in my opinion...

Not in the same sense as a eBike.

Impaired driving under the Criminal Code pertains only to those on motor vehicles or in vessels. An eBike is considered to be a motor vehicle under federal law, so Criminal Code impaired driving charges can be laid against an eBike operator.

A bicycle is not a motor vehicle. The only alcohol-related charge from riding a bicycle impaired that would apply is a POA ticket for public intoxication.

They really need to crack down on rolling stops for all vehicles. There are far too many people engaging in this dangerous practice.

the best are the people who cruise around at 10kmh under the limit holding everyone up and then all but tap their brakes for stop signs, slowing down maybe 5km at the most and just roll on through like its nothing.

"Hypermilers", aka. "How to improve your fuel economy, by putting your fellow drivers' lives at risk."

I keep seeing these thugged out guys riding around town on their e-bikes. I laugh my *** off every time.

If he doesn't need a license, does he need insurance? Or a license plate?
