Does anyone here snowboard???

I went to Blue Mountain once but all I saw was a big, horribly busy hill. Kept thinking the "mountain" must be behind the hill.

I'm a **** skier but if I go anywhere I'll drive to Vermont.

Hows the DC group? Dont you have to be asian? I'd love to go places with a bus.

went on two of their trips. jay peak and I believe tremblant. Imo, I would rather rent a van or just carpool with friends than take the bus. I'd rather work on my own schedule.

and yeah, like 80% asian, haha.

yeah thats what we do
i have friends from t.o and mtl that come to jay peak so we car pool
the weekend costs us about 250$ including
2 nights in an awesome cottage (last year we had a private jacuzzi and were 10 mins away from hill)
2 days of lift tickets
gas (split in 3)
then we usually make our own food and buy own booze and share. (maybe 20-30$ each for the weekend)

A LOT of cottages for rental in that area

Hmmm maybe I should try to convince friends to go to JP instead of tremblant for nye.
JP has no nightlife whatsoever though... just as a warning
(well not really...)

If you want to celebrate with your friends only at your cottage its perfect though

Personally i dont care that much about that. I love their tuna burgers and the waterpark. The ski lifts and tram are ridiculously slow. Not really digging their whole setup.

DC Events usually does a Jay Peak trip. I went several years ago and think I paid around $300 for the bus ride, cottage with 4 or 5 friends, lift tickets, pizza meal and a party. The party was actually quite fun... I don't remember the latter half of it though lol.

i havn't done killington, but I prefer tremblant to jayp. imo. more fun on the slopes and mtl isn't that far away ...

JP has some of the best glades runs I've ever experienced. I go on a trip almost every year there with locals and they can show you some wicked ****. Last time we hiked about 2 hours to get to some three feet powder.

It may be a bit lat but for anyone else thinking about buying used boots. Well don't. Boots are probably the most important piece of gear you will have. If they are **** then it doesn't matter how good your board and bindings are.

And we should try to get a weekly thing going if possible. I always get the 5x7 pass and usually ride sat and sun.

Dunno from what I seen noobs dont usually know what to look for in a boot. Bootfitters can only guide them so much. Might as well get something cheap and understand how a boot fit works and feels on the board.

Those are not glades, that's just bush :p Pine tree glades are 10x better.

^agreed, boots are definitely one of the most important considerations for someone just starting....
all the bells and whistles that the top of the line boards or bindings have won't apply to a beginner, so don't worry about that too much.

any other gear that is uncomfortable, is usually bearable (such as wet pants or tight gloves)....but uncomfortable boots will just ruin your day, and you won't be having fun.
I'd suggest just getting the most affordable comfortable boot you can. (boots with the Boa system are super easy to adjust)

btw, for those looking for a tune up..skiis and bikes has a 2 for 1 coupon going on till Oct 31.

I've done the DC events thing twice to Tremblant now. It's not bad for the price. I don't mind sitting on a bus and not doing any of the driving. Our group was only like 2/8 Asian last time. I think 6/8 GTAMers I think lol.....7/8 if you count my sis who had an account on here and maybe posted like 2 times. :p
