Disrepectful Trackday Riders- Don't Bother Coming Anymore!

Written by someone who hasn't hit a major plateau. Three seconds a lap is a massive difference, when you get to a certain level.
That is a nice general statement that sounds great, but specifically at TMP I repeat, someone doing 1'17 can't say a guy at 1:20 is slow.

Back when I raced cars, it seems to me that I was doing 70 and 71 second laps at TMP in CASC-OR Solo-1. Had a 200km/h spin there, a full 720 degree one with a yellow corvette (Eric Juraska) 20 feet off my stern doing his best to not hit me. Never have liked TMP, maybe it sucks less on a bike.

No it just sucks.

Dropping 3s between doing a lapping day and racing at the 1:17-1:20 range shouldn't be an issue. Dropping 3s at the 1:13-1:16 range would be different.

Three seconds a lap on a 600 vs a liter bike. See what a 1:08 on fabi feels like vs a 1:11. :) FWIW, given Paulo's history, such statements do not surprise me.

Bawahaha. Legendary lap record there. ;)
Here is a slower 2013 official lap record on a slightly race-prepped car. http://vimeo.com/67616163

Looks like 10 seconds needs to be added to that lap time estimate. 2012 CASC time attack lap times here http://www.casc.on.ca/time-attack/2012-event-5-lap-times-tmp

It was a big leap for me to go from 1:12 to 1:10 on NELSON, so that tells you just how slow I am ;)

LOL... how did this turn into a lap time thread? Throw some coolant on the track, then let's talk lap times, or survival of the luckiest. ;)

Yeah!!!

Lets get back to making people think that this guy, and R1Timmaayyyy are the same guy! #lobsterclaw

Like I said, seemed to me. We're talking practically another lifetime... 2001?

BTW, time attack is nothing like Solo-1. They cone off sections of the track and generally the whole thing sucks, which is why I wouldn't even consider it.

Fine. The vid shows the whole TMP track was used. Time attack at TMP is whole track in the vids I've seen. The point is we can put to bed a 71 second car lap time from a vette at TMP in 2001.

Magazine car test times

And supercar TMP times

I might be on a 72 kawi h2 fast by gast 154hp at ctmp vintage race next year. I'm already nervous lol

Brave man.

We're doing our civic duty keeping this thread alive, if off topic. :)

Whoa, I'm not arguing with you... it's been way too long for me to remember my lap time. I remember it was 70-something and I wanted away from that track ASAP every time I went there. Maybe I'm remembering a 1:21 followed by a 1:1x? Just been too long to remember and Solo-1 is long dead.

1:20 is slow.

The 1:20 time is not relevant, what your or others actual times are is also irrelevant.

Maybe I am not properly explaining my point here.

Regardless of how fast anyone is, or what the track record is, anyone doing 3 seconds less than another rider at a track day at TMP can not call that rider slow.

If your lap is 1:23 and you are calling a 1:26 guy slow you are a ****** bag.
If you are at 120 and you are calling the 1:23 guy slow you are also a ****** bag... etc etc.
If you are doing 1:12 (which is the fastest I have heard someone has lapped there but i am not sure) and you are calling the guy doing 1:15 slow then you are also a ****** bag

I understand that shaving .5 of a second on any track at certain level is a monumental task but that was not the point of my comment.

What history is that? and what does my history have to do with the conversation?

I didn't realize that there were such pro's in here. We club race for fun, each one of us make a huge investment in time and money to do something we enjoy, that is why i do it and not to come in here and put others down with statements with no substance.

Yea I have crashed in 4 races - I have also not crashed in many more and have done full endurance races without crashing once and never crashed on a track day, I am not trying to win a national neither go to any more advance level, this is for fun period and it will continue to be for fun, so talking about "my record" in order to put down my point to me seems pretty low but hey.. this is gtam.

Edit: I said TMP I did not say fabi! Did I?
