Disrepectful Trackday Riders- Don't Bother Coming Anymore!

It does happen.
A funny moment at TMP one time. They got the groups mixed up and when expert group was supposed to be heading out they accidently put up the beginner flag so we had both groups out at the same time. All the expert rides came off right away because it was pretty scary for them, the most common comment "holy f'ing crazy lean angle for those noobs" sometimes they go fast because they are fearless, not necessarily due to skill :)

nominated to produce a "Leave Ramon Alone!" vid.

Please draw the correct race line
Your homework for the night :)

Hard to draw a line through something that's not much thicker than a line ;)

I guess you'd have to have followed some guy dragging elbow through Shannonville Nelson 2-3, who isn't even using even half the width of the track, to know what I mean.

Very true. I was only trying to give some perspective on earlier posts that thought over 1:20 was a fast time at that track. It isn't for for the fast riders.

Maybe one day I'll be a fast sub 1:20 TMP rider. :(

~1:20 for a first ride is fast. My first time on the track I did a 1:30. Working at it with more seat time he could be fast. Too bad his talent is heavily outweighed with ******.

....

Above 1:20's may be fast for a street rider, but for many, including me it is still slow. :)

From years ago at "Caygua" on an old 600.

I'm confused on multiple counts :( 1:20 at TMP is just a "fast street rider" Also, can somebody explain what I should be seeing in these two pics, because what I see I don't really like in terms of body position and an insane lean angle as a result (it is possible that I just don't know what it is to go so fast that your body is forced back in the middle of the bike or something). Can somebody satisfy my curiosity?

G-forces son!

This is why we cant have nice things around here, everyone fights and argues while believing that they're marquez.

Lean angle=fast! Didn't you know?

Kwtoxman was pretty fast, though I haven't seen him ride on the track in quite some time. The last time I did he and Angela Hiba (on her Honda RS125 GP bike) were dicing it out, at Cayuga, which brought all the spectators to the wall. Might even have been the same day that shot was taken, as it looks familiar.

Seat time. But don't sweat over it. Even with the faster you get, there will always be others who are still faster. Otherwise we would be winning the pro series races.

You should refer back to your lap time thread for some perspective. Lots of fast guys under 1:20's. http://www.gtamotorcycle.com/vbforum/showthread.php?168036-What-are-your-lap-times

1:20's won't do anything in AM 600 racing at TMP.

I guess I should demand my money back for the instruction and training at FAST phases 1,2,3 from Michel, Francis, etc. :)

Yes, there is hanging off of the bike, the picture angles obscure it. Same day. The middle of the tail section is clearly delineated and one can see being off to the side.

I guess my perspective is skewed by my own personal experience. To discuss pictures further just invites ridiculous comments as already is the case.

RM is right. This was the same day. :). Good memory. I had no idea what the observers were doing as I had my attention focused elsewhere. ;)

Here is another picture of that day. Lots of fun tracking with friends.

Yellow CBR was fast for not having much track time, on essentially a street bike. He pushed it, had lots of fun, but did kiss the ground eventually. Softly so to speak. His name escapes me. RM may remember.

Kwtoxman, I'm sorry, I didn't mean to pick a fight or offend you in any way. It just sounded a bit exaggerated to say 1:20 is de facto nothing more than a "fast street rider", a statement with which I, and I bet many other people, would completely disagree. We've seen "fast" street riders come and have laps like 1:35+. 1:20 is not going to win any races, but is still insanely fast for people who haven't been doing track for many many years like yourself.

Regarding the pics---yeah, the one you post above clears up all body position questions, from everything I know (probably not much), it looks great. Apparently the first 2 are just odd angles and can't be used to judge.

No problem. Didn't mean to offend you or anyone either. People are sensitive about comments on riding, myself included. I spent a lot of time, effort, money on my riding ability with a broken along the way. But I was blessed to be quick. Racing success was the icing on the cake.

I personally just set the bar for a "fast street rider" much higher than you and others. It is all relative.

Sorry for the thread detour. Back to the topic.

It was easy to remember that day. It was the day that I introduced Angela to a side of the track that she's never seen before; track days. Before that all that she had done was FAST, then she immediately went racing. she was getting a kick out of the people who commented about her 'toy' bike, one even commenting that it would be a perfect bike for his son, as they clearly had no idea what they were looking at. There were maybe a half dozen people there, I had previously introduced her to, and had a clue who she was.

I'm not saying he isn't! Just saying anyone can post a pic of themselves giving it all they have (and then some in some cases) in the turn where the photog is. Doesn't say anything about who's fast and who isn't

Yep, I was there that day too. I clocked them at 1:17-1:18. Angela's first time there, but she's pro ;)

There was a LOT of sarcasm in my statement. AM 600 at TMP? That's not even a thing anymore. I don't ride at TMP because the track is junk. If I really wanted to put any effort into going fast there I'm sure sub 1:20's wouldn't be an issue. There's a risk/reward thing and at TMP there no reward. Nobody races there so to be fast there is pointless.

All this talk about "lap times","lean angles",blah blah blah. It;s a trackday!!!Ya pay your hard earned cash to someone who ensures you a funfilled and safe (cough...it's a trackday!!!) day with old and new friends. When that's not enough for ya,stay home or get a race licence and go nuts.THEN there will be no more bitching that anyone will listen to.For sure it won't be about coolant.

Racing is scary and I don't want to be competitive. I like riding around the track at my own pace :D
