While mulcairs analysis works best for the libs, prorogueing just as trump gets inaugurated would be one final kick in the nuts for the citizens. I can only hope that the GG stops toeing the line and tells the big baby to f off.

I agree. She's a spoiled ***** who has made a small fortune off of the backs of Canadians.
I find the resignation a bit insincere, and I'm guessing the series of events leading up to it are not exactly as she has portrayed. CF has been a bobblehead for JT since 2015, anointed with the prestige and privileges associated with Deputy PM and Finance Minister. She'd been called a lapdog, bobblehead, and other things -- it's clear she's been the PM's BFF.
I figure she was simply afraid to deliver this Fiscal update. The party is crumbling, the rats are fleeing the ship, what better political option did she have than claiming she was fiscally responsible and he made her do it (explode the deficit). Remember, she told the world the deficit would be $40B in her spring outlook. In 6 months it exploded to $60+B, this happened under her watch.
She's just another rat fleeing the ship. Im guessing she was afraid to present the update, there was an exchange, she realized there was no wins available and tossed the party under the bus to save her skin.

My official response: I can move to Sedona no questions asked, have all the guns I want, and go out to the desert and shoot them any time I please? Where do I sign. Canada is no longer Canada, so I don't see a downside.
I'm not talking about threatening.. or concessions.. I'm talking about a trump'ish style response.. take shots back at them.
They want to put a 25% tariff because of immigration and fentanyl.. point out the amount of illegal guns that come in from the US.. the amounts of drugs, illegal immigration flowing into Canada from the US... their murder rate.. type of thing.
Move to America then and leave Canada for the proud Canadians.
Canada hasn't changed much if you stay out of the city and off of the internet.

At the end she had no choices, a textbook example of too little too late.
The choices she made along the way - her job was to lead Finance. She gambled that following would advance her career, in the end it just ruined her legacy.
The prime minister appoints the cabinet. Control freaks want yes men and women not intelligent challengers of thought. PM also appoints the head of the RCMP (Scary). Cabinet ministers appoint the CRTC directors (Degrees of separation). All that power in the hands of an incompetent narcissist.

He may be a fool….but do we really want an election right now? We have an administration south of us that is threatening huge tariffs (which I don’t think will happen) and instead of dealing with that mess we’ll have our parties focused on election instead of responding to that threat.
IMO…wait a month after Trump takes office, figure out WTF is actually going on. If things are calm, then trigger the election.

Yes I do. But I would still prefer to NOT have an election while this issue arises.
I’m all for getting rid of JT. But is 1-2 months going to make much of a difference?
I want them to focus on dealing with the task at hand. Not have our economy bombed completely while they fight amongst themselves.
I know I’m asking too much…but I’m a firm believer we need to have a united front in the face of this threat.
It is if the person leading the response doesn't even have the confidence of his own party.
If the PM (and the Liberal party) really cared about a) the issue with so many ministerial vacancies and b) the Americans they would have NOT voted to rise parliament when they did. imo.
Don't forget, no opposition party is going to just forget what went down on Monday. When they come back on the 27th they will be laying it to the government twice as hard. Never mind that Parliament hasn't done a thing in 2?+ months due to the government ignoring the orders of the House to produce documents.

We should have had an election months ago and the new government in place when trump took office. That is sell-out Singhs legacy. Supporting terrorists and screwing all of the citizens in the country in the quest for his pension.
And yes, I truly believe no government is actually better than a whiney, incompetent, embarrassing trust fund baby throwing tantrums on the hill. At least no government isn't actively trying to bankrupt our grandkids at every opportunity.

The main.. and probably only real focus of our current government is, and will continue to be, saving themselves.. I don't want anyone with that mindset negotiating anything on my behalf.
Trump's threats have done exactly what he intended.. He's got Canadian's on their toes.. some are flat-out scared.. and showing it.. and he'll come into any negotiations with that advantage.
Trump threatened most of the US's trading partners.. have we seen any of them act like Canada has in response? Did any of their leaders immediately run down there and start kissing his ass?

She, as well as the rest of the Liberal cabinet ministers have been standing behind JT for the last nine years nodding their heads and enabling this clown. They all need to own that. I hope everyone remembers who they are in the next election and cast their vote accordingly. I also include Jagmeet Singh in that group and will be happy to see the last of him. He has absolutely no credibility left.
