Move to America then and leave Canada for the proud Canadians.
Canada hasn't changed much if you stay out of the city and off of the internet.
I'll give you my snow blower.

To Trump, anything Ford or Trudeau say is as important as a squeaking floor. A large number of Americans think the same. Their chit doesn't stink attitudeI'm not talking about threatening.. or concessions.. I'm talking about a trump'ish style response.. take shots back at them.
They want to put a 25% tariff because of immigration and fentanyl.. point out the amount of illegal guns that come in from the US.. the amounts of drugs, illegal immigration flowing into Canada from the US... their murder rate.. type of thing.
I doubt he would put up with a squeaky floor. It is far more impactful in his life than Canadian politicians. To Trump, anything Ford or Trudeau say is as important as a squeaking floor. A large number of Americans think the same. Their chit doesn't stink attitude
BLOTUS doesn't like it when people push back - he likes to fire them or force them to quit. He'll try to fire Canada and it will backfire. To Trump, anything Ford or Trudeau say is as important as a squeaking floor. A large number of Americans think the same. Their chit doesn't stink attitude
Cuba went against the grain. We could be Cuba northBLOTUS doesn't like it when people push back - he likes to fire them or force them to quit. He'll try to fire Canada and it will backfire.
Amerikstan didn't need Cuba, they need us.Cuba went against the grain. We could be Cuba north
Remind you of someone else we know? I think his body count is up there with Trump's by now.BLOTUS doesn't like it when people push back - he likes to fire them or force them to quit.
How so?Amerikstan didn't need Cuba, they need us.
Wasn't Cuba a cold war logistical thing?Amerikstan didn't need Cuba, they need us.

They would like you believe it was... but the cold war is gone but the embargo lives on, hobbling the Cuban economy.Wasn't Cuba a cold war logistical thing?
Oil, gas and electricity aren't bananas. How so?
In the words of a buyer from a large electrical contractor "Name something you sell that I can't buy from somebody else."
Read up on the United Fruit Company and Guatemala.
If we could elect politicians that put citizens/country in front of personal gain. Sadly, I haven't seen one of those on the ballot at any level in many years.Canada COULD be a world power IF we wanted to be.
Industry can be built up with time.Canada supplies 52% of the US oil imports.
Canada is the US's biggest trading partner, by FAR
Trump can make all the noise he wants, but that ain't going away, and if Trump thinks industry will allow him to tax that by 25% he is stupider than he seems.
If Trump gets a 25% tariff on Canadian imports there will be a world recession starting the next day and Canada is better prepared (we have the resources that industry needs... we just don't have the industry that those resources need)
Also harvesting resources alters the natural environment. Greenwashing politicians want to save every tree, bug and speck of dirt while at the same time spending like sheiks.Industry can be built up with time.
Resources can’t. Those are fixed in physical locations.
Canada should focus on leveraging the resources we have, and build the industry around it…
But….
Greed. Laziness. Ineptitude.
Those don’t go well together.
We're living in the US's shadow, but we don't have to. Canada COULD be a world power IF we wanted to be.
I'm hoping the new guy fixes that. The pipeline to the East stops at QC for one and only one reason - they want a gazillion dollars to cross their lawn. The pipelines to no LNG ports are a Steven Guilbeault problem. One of our biggest problems is we live next door to the US.
it has made us lazy, and we now rely WAY TOO MUCH on that trade. All (well... ALMOST all) our oil pipelines go south. Atlantic Canada buys oil on the international market because we don't have enough pipe to get them oil. We could sell LNG internationally but we have no pipelines going east or west... just south.
And maybe reduce their coal burn enough to get a few extra breaths of fresh air....
We took the lazy way out and now we are 100% tied to the US market... and so when the US elects some whackjob as president we have a wackjob controlling a big part of OUR economy
Selling a ton of hydrocarbons to China would REALLY help Canada's balance of trade with China... instead of giving China mining rights IN Canada.
Almost any Canadian could live better and make more money south of the border -- including you. I split my adult life living between Canada and the USA -- the reason I live here now is because of deep family ties to the GTA.But Canada being the 51st state? Over my dead body. America is the best place on earth to make money, but one of the worst places on earth to live. Canada is one of the BEST places on earth to live, and one of the worst places to make money. I don't know about YOU, but I spend more time and effort on living than I do on making money. Money is nice, nice life is better.
I agree, but I'm not sure we're that ambitious as a nation. We're living in the US's shadow, but we don't have to. Canada COULD be a world power IF we wanted to be.
