Even cheaper. Not swiss. No hand winding which is annoying. Not bad for the money though. Even has a display back for those that care. This one has some patina but it was on my wrist for years including wood splitting, mechanicing etc. That one came off for swimming and showering.those are nice…
for a cheaper option I kind of like these from the AV-8 brand..

people actually still wear watches! who would'a thunk it LOL
I personally haven't worn a watch since 2005 when I started teaching and all classroom have a clock in them...no need especially since my phone keeps time like @crankcall 's wife said
I have an ok traser tritium that was my daily for quite a few years. It is noticeably dimmer now. Tritium in marginally priced watches doom them. It is great for a few years but it is not economically viable to refresh the tritium. Quartz so it deserves a sad face but I didnt take it off for years and it never had an issue. Once smartphones became ubiquitous, alarm was only used as a backup to make sure I got to airport on time.I have a Seiko SKX009K2 pepsi that everytime I wear, someone asks if its a Rolex haha
My favorite daily watch that is currently broken is a Marathon GPM which has tritium illumination. Kind of a novelty but when you work in the nuclear industry, most people who ask about it at work think its cool. Somehow the minute hand fell off and I haven't put any effort into finding a place to have it repaired.
I have the same one!!Even cheaper. Not swiss. No hand winding which is annoying. Not bad for the money though. Even has a display back for those that care. Edit: I see you already brought this up. I much prefer the 4Rxx movements to the 7Sxx movements but normally you have to jump a price class to get them.
I honestly cant remember on this one, but on many automatic watches you can regulate speed to fix that.I have the same one!!
Kinda annoying that it runs fast and I have to dial it back every few weeks.
My first ever automatic watch and I'm starting to get interested in watches.

I almost bought one in Japan on my way back from a profitable job. I'm ok without it. Cool for the original owner, almost no retained value.I think it’s 12-25 years depending on the capsule and amounts for tritium.
I’ve always wanted a Luminox and there’s some on sale here Luminox | Altitude Sports
Trying to talk myself out of it.…
By 1990 there were very few watchmakers left in Canada, most were approaching retirement or long retired. Most shops could change batteries, but past that they would sub repairs to wherever the master watchmakers could be found. Around 2005 the biggest in Canada closed moved operations to their US hq.as above, my watch maker/fixer guy says do not use a watch winder, his logic is, would you leave your car engine running in the driveway so its ready when you want it?
At the current rate of Omega and Rolex service , having them sit idle a bit is just fine.
My pockets aren't deep enough for stupidly expensive watches , but I did have a pretty nice watch with sentimental value ruined by a hack watchmaker ( actually two of them) , so if there was ever a case of you get what you pay for , it may be watch repair.
Tag Heuer has them listed at $7,900-8,400. though I have no idea what a true street price is. Not for me, but I can at least appreciate the design. The Seikos are much cheaper, and I love the retro mashup of Italian and Japanese design. Sadly, the originals were plastic (in true '80s fashion), so most haven't aged well. The reissues are nice enough, but assembled in China and not the best of Seiko...I’ve always liked the Steve McQueen Tag Heur. I can’t see myself buying a $1000+ watch ever though. If I get that I urge I just get someone to buy me a decent Chinese fake. Some of them are pretty well made. Had some guy waffle on about how it was good to find another “Tag man” until I shut him up by telling him it was a fake.
