Daily sports car?

Nice setup!

How's the Thinkware? Does it have the collision/lane detection? That's what i'm waffling on vs something like a VIFO A139 Pro.

My brother has the A139. For the pricing you just cant beat the value it provides.
Honestly I havent played around with the U3000 that much. All I do is update the speed camera locations via the phone app once a month or so.

Both the front and rear camera operate as independent 1 channel cameras. But yea, they do have some sort of radar functionality but the beeps annoy the hell out of me whenever the car in front or behind me moves after I come to a stop. I've turned off most of the beep/notifications otherwise it gets pretty mouthy.

I like blackvue due to its smaller form factor but after reading about the overheating issues they previously had, Thinkware appeared to be a slightly better option. Also, the thinkware models come with a square-ish heat rejection film that you apply to the windshield prior to mounting the cameras. Helps cut down on heat some.

Edit: apparently it does have some lane features - will need to figure out how to turn those off as well lol.

I had a Thinkware for a while and it was great. Never needed it but bigger bumps / potholes always triggered it so it did have collision detection.

I’ve got it laying around here somewhere from the Volt.

I used to use the dodLS460W back in the day and loved it. Pity they appear to have dropped off market share since. Korean as well iirc.

The Benz had forward collision warning and I liked the prompts actually...(more for my wife 🤫). I suspect she will hate the Jag so much it probably isn't worth taking one model over the other..but i kind of dig getting an alert. One time in particular I was checking my blind spot and the guy in front went full potato on his brakes. The alert did improve reaction time, because I knew it meant the person in front was braking so I didn't have to waste time evaluating the situation and then reacting.

I did the same...somewhat.

Thinkware + Starline + Compustar + Drone Mobile.
Those battery packs are pretty pricey - I had 2 dash cams wired to one aux battery pack and use the secondary battery pack for Drone mobile telematics so that it doesnt drain the car battery when it sits for extended times. All done over at Lockdown Security in Markham.

Do you plug in your nintendo controller to start the vehicle like I do with Starline?

up down up down left right b a start ;)

Part of the reason (based on Lockdown's recommendation) I went with Starline was because it can also authenticate you via bluetooth.
So I keep the 'cheat codes' as a failsafe just incase bluetooth is not available.
IGLA has 2 key fobs to be used in emergency situations, there is also a master reset code on a scratch card to input into the vehicle if something goes wrong.

Sounds like Starline is a bit more convenience. Although if someone swiped your phone they could still code a key and get the vehicle to run? Or is there some in app authentication?

Feel free to PM if you want to take this offline. :)

Updated pics post detailing - Full detail exterior/interior/Stage 1 polish/Full ceramic sans wheels (don't care about the winters). Gloss black on rear emblems, JAGUAR delete from the spoiler.

It already had PPF on full front end/50% hood/A pillars/rockers
I had anti theft canbus installed, if people have queries about that feel free to ask
Dash cam install pending, with battery pack to make sure i get 24/7 coverage. Didn't want the camera sapping the car battery, so the battery pack charges when the engine is on

Looking good. Nice score that it was already done in ppf as it’s a bit of an expense. I had both of our vehicles done in ppf the minute we got them.

Well after 20 years of Porsche ownership, just sold my car. Was fun but I guess the blush is off the rose, been there, done that kinda thing.
Got to the point that I was only driving it 1500 - 2500 kms a season. Some of that feeling obligated to get it out for a spin.

I've met a few guys that were in the same position after a few years. Mine was a 20+ year love of the brand. Things change. Retirement on the horizon in a few years. Maybe a class B. More travel.
Got a really good price and the buyer, a great guy, made it all easy. Purchased my 4 post lift as well. I didn't have to advertise.
Life goes on.

One of the guys on the Hawk forum is crazy about T-Birds. I helped him find some apparently unobtainium body panels for the previous gen and brought them down with me a couple rallies ago. If nobody has dibs on it, please send me some details so I can pass it on. US dollar strength will probably help too.

Owned one back in the day. ‘ 91 with moon roof and auto. Red with black leather interior. Great highway cruiser. Bought it because a BIL had one with a 5spd (silver exterior) and had a hoot with it. Immediately went looking for one myself. Could only find an automatic and the ex couldn’t drive stick. Prefer it over a fox body mustang with the V8.
