I bought a chromebook for the kid. Prepping for online school. Realisitically, I don't see school starting before the middle of January.
I’ll wait for it to catch up , I sit and have coffee ever morning with someone that works on the “bed meeting review” , which is what hospitals call the who is full and where do we put staff and customers meeting . It’s not really an argument about who gets sicker , vaccinated or unvaccinated, and hospitalization, and there are ( were ) a lot of hospital staff not getting shots . Long Covid , the year into it brain fog folks may have reconsidered how ugly it can be . Getting sick is one thing , taking a full hit and being in physio learning to walk or trying to remember a word to finish a sentence . That’s ugly .

if the people want it it will happen and as per the polling they have scared the **** out of so many people, that they will vote to shut everything down until messaging changes …..a panic in motion tends to stay in motion.
We need new leaders , new media and new messaging to stop this nonsense . Seems like prior to COVID no one knew that people got sick and died and life isn’t fair or equitable and never will be .
And if anyone says to me. “ yeah tell that to the families of the dead “ I reply “ line them up because someone has to let them know that this is reality and will always be “ we are so disconnected from the tragedy of life that people cannot accept the basic fact that nature and or life will always find a way to kill you.

It is fascinating places like phoenix az are wide open , no masks , just going about the business and London uk largely the same , very different approach to the problem. My Doctors Without Borders pal that worked with Ebola and HIV in the hay day in west Africa said people just carried on , either numb to it or just indifferent. I’m not sure who’s right here .

If there’s one silver lining about COVID it’s that the truly stupefyingly dumb and monumentally selfish have self identified. We thank you for your contribution and for your entry to the ignore list.
Some places people don’t care until it directly affects them, usually with a hospital visit. I’d like to think we are better than that.
So I had lunch with a pal that is running a company called High Mark , trades as HMRK , that is considered a leader in concussion research and software with an interesting testing matrix.
They have shifted gears and are doing a lot with US hospitals ( and the hope is the US military $$$) on the effects of long covid , which appears very similar to multiple concussions and brain injury.

Cool that they are able to pivot like that and try to extract/predict like that. It is very unfortunate that the virus can have similar effect as violently shaking your brain.
Florida AKA God's waiting room is about a third larger than Ontario. Their death count is far higher but, again a lot of near deads to start with. Countering the age thing they have more heat. It's hard to make a direct comparison.
Trackrat and jc100, you guys are both opposite sides of the same coin. Whatever group (vaccinated or unvaccinated) you belong to does NOT make the other group a bunch of idiots contrary to both your beliefs. There are a lot of very intelligent people in both camps. Just because you don't agree with someone's opinion doesn't mean hurling insults will make your opinion correct or even make you appear more intelligent (quite the opposite actually). Beating each other down with facts and stats is amusing though, so please don't get this thread closed.

Read again. I never called anyone stupid or idiots . The difference between the 2 sides of the coin are one is yelling at the other side and calling them stupid and one side is presenting information that the first group doesn't like.
I have also been called a conspiracy theorist and accused of right wing ideology by saying we should protect the vulnerable.
Anyone with common sense can see who is irrational and upset about someone putting out information that they do not like out there or discussed.
The vaccine side is trying to shut down and shout down the other side . The unvaccinated are not doing that to the same extent at all.
Regardless, this nonsense has to stop , the suffering of the masses is enough , it isn't helping anymore and the messaging needs to change from doom and gloom to acceptance of where we are and where we are going not repeating history over and over and over .
People die people get sick , always Will. You cannot stop nature as proven by what is happening today . Too many people have gotten away from nature and don't understand that life is miserable for most and we in the western world are way too deluded and spoiled about real life and death and suffering.
To put it in perspective for all the experts on here , I have been dead , revived in hospital with the paddles . January of 2021 , walked out of the hospital the next day , went home , pet my dogs , pet my horses , got in bed with my wife and moved on. Back to life , fighting , working , f?!cking and riding of all kinds .....There is nothing on the other side but darkness and you can't feel death coming.
Get over it and enjoy everything including the misery .
