The injection is addressing the symptoms in the infected people. If the number of people inoculated is reducing the spread of the disease, then so is the number of individuals that contract the virus and don't die from it. But realistically it's not working out that way, people have recovered from it once and then died from it at a later date.

So now that Italy's gone into another lockdown (again) - does this mean we are going to move into rolling lockdowns every season?
How many waves do they expect for this virus?
I doubt this thing will ever stop given how its inevitable that new variants will evolve.

The EU has botched vaccine delivery.

As of right now, Canada has vaccinated 7.02% of its population, Italy 7.94%.

No, the vaccine is stopping people from getting infected at all.

You have to get it quite badly (or get a vaccine) to build decent immunity. Being at the lower threshold for a positive test does almost nothing for you.

How does it do that?
Here's a bunch of coronavirus, how can it not infect somebody? Because you had it before, because your body had a taste of vaccine?
The vaccine does Not put a big bubble of infection free around you. Wish it did but that's a pipe dream.

Tonight is the time for both in laws to the Toronto Congress Centre.

Will see what the process is like and how far behind schedule they are by dinner time.

I think I heard they are planning for 450 today at the TCC. The 97 year old will I believe based on his timeslot be the 450th for there today

My buddies in the UK either have already gotten or are about to get their first shots. We are so behind.
Would have had to sign up for Toronto for that. They're doing my age group now, here is not.

I'm supposedly in group two by age, but so many groups/unions/etc. are squeezing in, that it's almost meaningless.
Many of them have already squeezed ahead of my dad in group one, so perhaps there aren't that many left?

Lots of decisions are being made, simply because the supply is tight.

you could drive across the UK in what 5 hrs? in 20hrs you made it to saskachewan here . our logistics and scope makes that a bit of an unfair comparison.

getting our 80+ age group ( and a whack from 70's up) will be the hardest demographic, a lot do not use online anything, dont drive, forget thier appointments , once we get grannies out of the way this thing will streamline.

Just wanted to give a thumbs up to Amazon.

Got notice of an order delivery yesterday and photo evidence attached. Come home and the wife says nothing was at the door when she arrived (about 3 hours after the photo was uploaded).

Just chatted with Amazon to let them know of the issue, didn't think anything would come of it. Actually getting a full refund!

It was only $20 in value but i'm fairly shocked to see no hesitation on the refund trigger. I expected them to 'investigate' and i'd never hear from them again.

I guess spending over 3 grand in the last year with them gets me some credibility...

Amazon is actually really good about returns etc. I’ve not had to deal with it often but with smaller items they generally just refund the cost and don’t ask for a return of the item. More expensive items they send you a shipping label to return the product. They will even cover a third party seller that isn’t stepping up with warranty service etc.

I’m sure the customer history plays a role in the service as well. I use Amazon frequently and rarely have had to return

I can now order my crap from Amazon and get it delivered in a day. The transport logistics aren’t the biggest issue (save for more remote communities but all of those are several hours by cargo plane away). Supply is the problem.

To be fair, 20 hours west gets you to the western edge of Ontario....

The easy returns end in the landfill, and they squeeze the supplier for it. Not the best way, if you're environmentally concious. Kid bought a gaming chair from China and there were a couple of bolts missing, they sent a new chair as it was cheaper and they were still making a profit.

Dad got his first shot today in Toronto.

But whatever. if it changes the minds of even 25% of his base, it’s helpful. I have my doubts though, they’ll come up with some conspiracy about how the “deep state” made him say it or some nonsense.
I've got some people acquainted with Trumpy nutters... Apparently it's a "Deep State Deep Fake". Totally altered video. NO way in hell he would have said that.

Trump finally came out and told his followers to get the shot.

Can’t wait to read the cognitive dissonance online now. I have a few sorta-friends on FB (people we met on past cruises etc) who are the hard core Trump supporters and the constant line of nonsense coming from them on vaccines (despite nearly half a *billion* doses being administered now) is sad.

What? One of Trump's brain cells mutated and did something intelligent?

I'll have to check the redneck M/C forum I used to follow to see if how they're spinning that. Last I read everything was Fauci's fault. Seriously, Trump has followed in Hirohito's footsteps, an emperor god to the freedumb party.

53 active cases today in K town. All students it seems. Some new variants. This is a big jump.

34% of all new reported cases in Ontario are now in schools.

Sigh.
I am assuming you are referring to post-secondary? Our local elementary schools numbers have been surprisingly low on the random testing.
