The province has JUST announced the emergency measures act will exetnd until June1o , so the closures continue.

I'd like to thank ALL the idiots that needed to be in Bellwoods park, needed to be at Wasaga, need to stand around at group rides. You guys are awesome. You just cost me thousands more, because my programs are on hold because you morons cant be trusted.
Thanks douchnozzles.

It's a hug the baby election type thing. So if they are going to fix it.Where does all the money come from?Listening to J Singh on tv right now.Appalling, omg, this has to stop right now. So all these elderly with no money are supposed to pay for the better care how?
Oh they don't care about that part....they just need the sound bite to pretend they actually give a $hit about the issue.

I'll lump myself in with these idiots. Although we didn't leave the cottage...but we did go up.

Its not even a case of pay for better care, what they are being screwed on is already paid for. Not using sterile equipment, thats training. Being fed on rotten food, it was fresh when purchased, cockroaches? again the cleaners are already there, just doing a teribble job.
All these support staff are certified and trained, its management.
The Ontario nurses association saying "we've been talking about gthis for years" , really?? to who?

None of what is missing costs money, its not a funding issue, its a give an F issue. Families dump granny in the least expensive place they can find and greedy owners do as little as possible.

@mimico-polak ,you went to your cottage and stayed, your not the problem. the 100 goofs on the beach? theres the problem
We drove by the beach to see when we went there...totally empty. But that was Allenwood beach, not the main strip. But I agree...near our cottage there are a lot of rentals, and I'd say that they were 10-20% rented out. Typically you can't even drive toward Allenwood during any long weekend, especially the first one.

You pay for retirement home, nursing home is mostly covered by provincial money (you pay to upgrade room if you want). Nursing home gets ~$120 per day for room, board and care. There is not a not of room there. How much time is required to "properly" care for someone that is unable to care for themselves? Probably four to eight hours a day depending on how cooperative the patients are. You can make some positive changes, but grossly changing the situation requires more money going in.

I suppose that how you phrase things, depends on your Narrative.

Where'd you get that one? I like it and haven't seen many of them.
From a place called Grace in the Kitchen. They get them from www.coolearthproducts.com in Vancouver.

You could try the Big Carrot, or Cookery in Toronto.

From an Ontario travel agent's facebook page with a link to Magic Kingdom opening July 11:
"Life is getting back to normal...Disney is opening...✈️? "
"Mickey needs to see his friends... "

F me. I'm glad everybody is looking out for number one. That is going to work really well long term.

On our retail strip, three of the four travel agencies have permanently shutdown and are completely cleared out.... the forth is just closed of course (for now).

I'm guessing COVID will kill off a lot of lifestyle and marginal businesses. Many of these operations can't sustain a bad month without a lot of pain, string a few months together and it's over.

Same goes for individuals employed in unskilled or low skill jobs. Going to be tough if you are in retail, dining, hotels, entertainment or home services.

Those types of travel agencies are gone the way of the dodo. Even the corporate ones I use where they book everything for me are all online.
It's a smart business that folds up the physical location quickly. Even if you decide a physical location is a good idea in the future, recovering from many many months of rent with no income is unlikely. Better to preserve the capital.

Also four travel agents in one strip? How the hell did they survive in the first place. Who is walking into these places?

I used one once and although on the surface it was the same price as booking myself, the scam was if I booked myself the ticket was 100% refundable, if I used the agent it was 0% refundable unless you bought their insurance at 20% of the ticket cost.

If that strip is near an elderly housing area I’m sure the businesses did well selling cruises etc. Still....gramps and grandma are getting the hang of ipads these days.

Using the term slightly loosely. Two were high end boutique places dealing with very high end travel, one was a flight centre type place and the one that still has furniture and may reopen is one of those corporate places.

I never did understand the concept in the context of the Internet. I can always get a better deal shopping direct online then they ever offered...

I have no horse in the race but I would imagine the average republican lives in an area where the population density is lower, is typically older and less likely to gather in groups or go out because its been well known Covid presents a greater risk to the elderly.

The NYC situation heavily biases the Democrat graph.
Yes, and sending sick people into nursing homes didn't help at all.
Keep in mind that Central Park is packed, but you won't see many photos.
Pictures will be from Florida beaches, or other places where those cousin marrying, inbred lawbreaking protestors reside.

Personally, I wear a mask, but don't expect others to. Everyone, has to be able to decide for themselves, how far to take it.
If someone without a mask comes by, I have an option to create distance, or go by as quickly/safely as possible.
If I still don't like it, I can decide to not participate.

In some places now, mob rule can quickly become the law. And rules that don't pass the smell test can apply.

A new human has mutated out of snowflakes.

I was at a clinic yesterday and although it was a screw up organizationally they were doing the right stuff Covid wise. As you enter the room there is a sanitizer pump on a table and a sign saying you must sanitize. I do and take a spaced seat. In comes a lady and she is asked to sanitize, she looks at the table and says her hands are cleaner than the pump. She had to open three doors to get there and she wasn't wearing gloves. Maybe she drank the disinfectant Trump was pushing.

A staffer pushed the pump for her and ideally would have to change gloves. If snowflake did it herself she would have killed anything she would have picked up from the pump.

I always wonder about those public use pumps, it would seem to be a good idea to have a small bleed valve out the top so the actual plunger isn't teeming with things than you then need to kill off your hands.
