Copy of the M Test (M2X) checklist!

update * passed - Met a few other riders there who were doing their tests aswell. Rain exp and riding exp was very quite broad. Met a cute girl on a 02 silver ZX6R and two other people on cruisers.

Other than a deer running out on North Service Rd, test went well. Not that hard in the rain, just take your time. He seemed okay with me taking my right hand off the front brake at a light, keeping my right foot on my rear and using my hand to wipe my visor down. Passed with 0 errors, which is odd, because I thought they had to make you wrong on atleast a few things. Oh well.

Yay me.

Re: M2 Exit Test Kenora Ave. Hamilton - Here is the map

ah i gotta go for mine soon. I have no clue how to do roadside emergency and stuff. Thats the same route they took me when i was going my G exam...
Were they flexable with the tiny mistakes or no?

Re: M2 Exit Test Kenora Ave. Hamilton - Here is the map

Did the test the other day at Kenora in Hamilton and thought I would share the map (searched here before the test and couldn't find one).

So here it is:

btw, I passed :D

Congrats! That is the same route I did as well this year on a 125R

Yes, just make sure when you're left turning you block your whole lane with your bike and you'll pass.
Road side stop is look-signal-look again-pull over/stop-kickstand down-get off bike-look around-get back on bike-kickstand up-look-signal-look again-start moving-cancel signal.

Now a GM guy.:D Passed today at the Downsview location - 5 marks against me in the error box (but could only count 3 on the scoring sheet - meh). One rider before me (older guy) squeaked in on his 2nd attempt (650cc scooter) but another on a cruiser got only 2 marks against him - so I think they are fair. They guy would speak to you if he thought there was a issue (older guy on the scooter) but he just said "passed" and said "you did ok".

One hiccup - I took my pass sheet, stood in line for about 1/2 hour and then the guy who issues the temp GM licence said that I passed the LIMITED SPEED test!! LMAO - on a ZX-6R? The carbon copy had shifted and the boxes were out of kilter on the bottom - so I had wait another 30 minutes as the tester just left for a road test and they had to verify.

Advice? Read ALL the posts to see what they are looking for, and #1, drive the 3 days before your test like an examiner were behind you. On the test day you should be "in the test mode" (read bobble head) as it's really hard to switch on just that day imo.

Too bad my full M test is tomorrow morning and the worst part it's raining too, suppose to be thundering too, depending on which weather report you use. Anyways, hopefully it goes well, rather be doing the test in sunshine.

Re: M2 Exit Test Kenora Ave. Hamilton - Here is the map

Thanks, I've been meaning to ride around that area for when I go for mine. Looks to be the route for when I did my G test.

Of course I still have to book, though I'll try for a cancellation. And my rear tire has hit the wear bars on half of it. I'm not sure they'd appreciate me taking the test with them in that condition or not.

Re: M2 Exit Test Kenora Ave. Hamilton - Here is the map

I'm moving this to the "M2X Checklist" sticky, so that we can save the route information.

Keep in mind that testing centres have multiple route options. So, I would not fixate myself on one particular route that is listed for the testing site you're going to chose. Just ride your ride and follow the instructions that are provided and you should do fine.

Quick Q: for aurora test when coming from Henderson and turning right southbound to yonge, there are 3 lanes 1 looks like a long bus stop. Which lane you should turn into? There seems to be solid white line going to middle lane so am I correct to just directly go to middle lane?

Read the entire thread as there is a lot of valuable info, one if I recall that said you HAVE TO turn into the right lane, even if that's a bus stop lane.

Don't take my word though. Reading this entire thread won't take long if you skip the threads about the routes where you're not taking the test from.

I already have and I saw that thread but my problem is the solid line that goes dirctly to the middle lane which is confusing?

Ok - ask the examiner when they give you the run-down on the route. I was at Downsview and for example he told me to ignore the orange 50kph constuction zone signs and to go with the traffic flow.

I just pmed the original "asker" :)

Unfortunately funrider is wrong - there is a solid line, which is there specifically with the purpose of not being crossed by vehicles turning right.

So, the answer is, turn into the lane left of the bus lane.

I just passed at downsview and just wanted to clarify something I got dinged for that wasn't clear to me after reading this thread.

When turning right at a red light or stop sign, stay in your blocking position (left tire track) and don't move over to the right. Just before you stop at the line, angle your bike so you block both tire tracks (so the rear tire stays in the left tire track and the front tire goes into the right tire track) like this:

I'd like to thank the people that contributed to this thread and the ones who took their road tests in Oshawa.

Passed today with a near perfect (deducted 3 points) and I was the second guy to pass up until that point. The previous 4 guys just didn't make it.

Proud to say I'm a GM now :-D

(what a relief)
