A rental Corolla is the LE 1.8l 142 hp CVT. SLow. the Hatchback and the SE are 2.0. 169 hp...Giggity.

Yeah but the resale on those things is unbelievable. I had to sell my father in law’s 2015 Corolla LE when he passed away and there was a line up of people kicking my door in to buy it.

OP said they were looking for a car equivalent of an SV650, not the car equivalent of a 50cc scooter!
When I started selling cars....a V6 made 190 HP.....Celicas were considered sporty with 140hp. An sv 650 was never considered fast by any stretch of the imagination. Its a budget standard. But it isn't my money.I’m sorry, but 169hp in a 4 door family sedan with sloppy suspension is “giggity”?

Things arent that simple anymore.
And to think that today's world considers a 200hp RWD coupe 'slow'.
Personally I think the Toyaburus are right in that sweet spot for a fun, affordable, enjoyable and useful with a trunk type of car.
If I could justify it I'd buy the new model. Those look sexy and got a nice torque boost.
Civic Si is stupid fun once you get it wound up. One of my favourite cars that I had (2010). Had it in that sweet burnt orange colour as well. Really liked that car.
Economical, practical (sedan), sounds good, rides like it's on rails, good shifter, good suspension...low on power, but you can wind it up like a mofo and VTEC POWER! LoL
I'm also pretty sure the Si never came in automatic...except the older generation SiG (I had the 2003 SiG also).
We almost went with a BRZ but in the end ordered an SI. Expected delivery date is end of March, but we’ll see…..
I still want a new BRZ/86...but...3 kids...lol
I would have to go with an automatic for the wife as she really likes the Volt, and I'm not in a position to have 3 cars.
Totally forgot about your post about the cars. Was wondering how you like the car, but I guess we'll have to wait until April/May for a review.
Meh. There at least least a few other JC reviews I prefer (Ariel Atom for one). As for the car, if I was buying it as a DD, I would go with GTI/R over TT. Close enough to the same guts, much lower maintenance costs.
