Canada Post - Huge losses

I need your signature.

Where's the package?

Uh........I'll bring it later.

Busted.

We had problems like this at our last house with package deliveries by CPC. It seemed like if there were more packages than space for them in the superbox, the carrier either didn't bring them on the route, or pre-selected the ones that would be put in the superbox. The rest had the cards filled in and were dropped off at the postal outlet at the end of their route. The thing is, we are retired and could see the truck drive past our house as they went to the superbox. No one ever tried to deliver the package, even if it didn't require a signature. This changed when the carrier was replaced.

Happens here sometimes as well.

I’m just guessing , but weeks . If your mail was in Halifax when things stopped , well it started the journey again a long ways away . If the corporation won’t allow overtime, and the troops have no need for extra bounce in thier step , weeks and weeks

The last I heard the USPS hold was still on. There may be tons there waiting to cross the border.

Anyone notice that mail coming in is very slow? I.e.: 1 piece of mail / day. That's what we've been getting. A single piece.

Is it possible the posties are butt hurt they got mandated back to work and are just being d%@ks about it? Sort of like 'work to rule' type of thing?

I'll assume we can't do / prove anything as they'll just say 'well that's all we had for you today' but reddit (I know I know) is really putting in 'reports' of posties mucking around with misdirection of packages, breaking of equipment on purpose, and refusing to drive trucks... (once again...reddit...so take with a big grain of salt).

I've checked mail once. I had two pieces of addressed mail and no junk. I guess I should check again in case the glut has come through.

Went to the post office and picked up a bearing I ordered from Partzilla on November 13th. Once again a USPS cross border delivery with no extra duty or costs.

Stuff's trickling in.

Ordered something from overseas during the middle of the strike. Was held in CP Limbo for a month. It just cleared customs yesterday.

Delivery date Jan 3rd.

I'll believe it when I see it.
My cousin tried to send me something from Poland during the strike. The motherland most office refused to accept it as they were told not to accept any mail going to Canada.
Surprised your packed made it into the CP Limbo.

I'm waiting for a parcel from New Zealand. NZ tracking says it got on the plane and last known sighting was Dec 1. CP says it's still waiting for the item. I assume it's at the bottom of the pile in a B.C. warehouse, yet to be handed to CP.

Full Disclosure: It was from AliExpress. China don't care about what's happening in lil ole Canadia. They:
Used the Force mode.

ChinaHatePMs forwarded to /dev/null

I also ordered from SpeedoAngels in the UK, and Unifilter from Australia. Both of those vendors refused to initiate shipping until the strike was over. They live and die by the all-important tracking, which obviously didn't work during the strike.

SpeedoAngels just sent me an e-mail yesterday saying they shipped my screen protector.

I suspect the Unifilter folks in Australia are still hung over from NYE celebrations...

I submitted a dental claim to my insurance company on Dec 26th, the claim cheque arrived today by mail.

Well first important mail is in , Red light camera ticket , thank you Burlington!

I received a reminder about a speed camera that my wife happen to collect back in August. It's been paid before the reminder was issued.
Mind you it was my first visit to the mailbox since the strike "ended".

We received two pieces of actual mail, then pizza flyers.
