blackberry 10

Also, Jailbreaking the phone opens up the restrictions and more options.

Does jail breaking it allow the device to be used like a portable harddrive a-la Samsung/Android?
Additionally, I don't like the concept of jail breaking as it voids the warranty + no future updates.

I'll say again, I really like the entire line of Apple's products. Fit and finish are second to none. Fc*ing hate forced iTunes and the inability to transfer music from random terminals / download from the internet straight to the phone/ipod.

Ok, so you hate Apple's walled garden (agreed), and you hate the plastic fantastic Samsung for all their crappy bloatware (agreed)

slick OS, no bloatware, and can use it like an Android, time to give a Passport a shot.....

You can update a jail broken device, it works fine you just lose the jailbreak (and have to rejailbreak). In practice, normally you have to stay at least a few months behind the updates to allow the new jailbreaks to be released (assuming you still want a jailbroken device after the update).

Agreed, blackberry is the best of both worlds

I dont mind the BB OS. Can't get past that square block design.
Another nice feature of the Android/Apple is it's cross-platform sync. My GF can send text messages and answer calls on her Macbook Pro, or her Tablet, or her phone. Start typing in one room, finish in the next = COOL.

Hate to say it, but unless their future phones look like this, they are not going to be shifting many consumers.
IMO, the best designed phone on the market currently, bar none. Size, materials, finish. A1, Topclass.

Um, with BlackBerry Blend, on any Macbook, iPad, desktop PC, or android tablet, you can text, email and BBM, access to contacts, calendar and have full access to all your BB's files and pics.

Your phone could be left at home. When you get to the office you can still access your BlackBerry fully. And when you disconnect, not a trace is left behind.

No need to be handcuffed to one OS. Now THAT is cool....

It's a flat square box with a touchscreen. All of these phones look the same. My BB Z10 looks the same except the button is on the end instead of on the face. What am I missing?

Are you talking about the iPhone that came two years before this? :D

Definitely not top class, but a step in the right direction for Samsung

I have to stop reading SunnY S's posts. I'm beginning to really miss my physical keyboard. But that Torch 9810 really ruined BB for me.

Master Guru Gary....

more optimism for Black Betty? (quarterly earnings report comes out this fri)

BlackBerry to ring Nasdaq closing bell in Times Square....

Quarterly earnings update on the 19th. Hopefully some better news for the battered company. One thing I'm curious how they're going to address is the loss of monthly revenue from legacy devices if/when enterprises upgrade to something like the Classic or Z series. Yes there are plans from the BES side, but doesn't look like it'll cover everything from what I've read.
