News has little bearing on the sp. Here's what matters a bit more:

BlackBerry Ltd.’s (NASDAQ: BBRY) short interest, at more than 111.50 million shares as of mid-month, was barely higher than in the previous period. Yet that was the greatest number of shares short this year, and 22.8% of the total float. The days to cover rose from about nine to more than 11. Shares closed at $10.67, in a 52-week range of $6.98 to $12.54, and they saw decline of more than 9% in the two-week short-interest period.
Short sellers fled Apple Inc. (NASDAQ: AAPL), dropping it well out of the top 10.

so I caved and ordered a passport. I think bb needs to really be more competitive with phone prices as compared to competition. BB had ground to make up.

forget everything you ever knew about your old storm....

just get past the learning curve with the new BB10 OS, and adjust to the nuances of the system (eg. swiping, instead of hitting a home button). its pretty slick and efficient once you get going....

to fill your app needs, you have the Blackberry App World, which will have the basics. Also, a lot of the things you required apps for on other OS' might not need an app because they just work in the browser.

The Amazon app store will be pre installed so you'll have a nice selection of Android apps and games to get you going as well. From what I've seen, the Android runtime runs Android 4.3 with 512MB of RAM so just about any android app will run UNLESS it specifically requires Google Services to function/call home (like maps, etc)

Lastly, you can sideload (copy an .APK file to your device to install outside of any app stores) an application called SNAP that gives you direct access to the Play Store and you can install android apps with an easy to use, familiar interface. tl;dr version -> install chrome add-on, in the url enter the IP of your BB (or plug it in via USB), copy file, installed.

The interface will seem 'different' at first with all the swiping and such, but once you're used to it, it's hard to go back. Also, you have a keyboard that allows for quick shortcuts and quick accesses to applications and common commands. It's also a track pad for scrolling and during typing for auto suggestions.

Give it a week, if it's not your thing, you could flip it on kijiji for what you paid as it's still a popular device but not for everyone. Good luck.

I tried to e-mail them asking what's up and what info they need. No reply.

Edit: So I tried to log into the bb website to see my order status to see if I can update it or anything like that since that e-mail never replies back or I assume they take their time replying back. All the info was wiped out and there was no order so I assume they deleted it? I placed another order for a phone. Hopefully they don't **** this up. I kinda need the phone asap. I wonder if Amazon has it on their prime service...

I had the same issue before. If you are shipping in Canada you have to order from the Canadian site, not the US one.

I'm sure it was the Canadian one. Weird... It did keep saying International shipping on the order check out. Let's see if this order goes through otherwise I'll try again tomorrow one more time. I've been reading up on crackberry it seems like customer service is not BB's strong point.

When I ordered from the cdn website a few months ago, it arrived fairly quickly, in less than a week, iirc

The online store is run by a BB sub contractor based in the US called Digital River.


edit : is your method of payment up to snuff? you using your mom's credit card again? Try using Paypal, works great for me! here is a clue from their email response : Please reply to this email to contact our Customer Service department (orderconfirmation@digitalriver.com) and confirm the billing information on record or provide an alternate method of payment.

They should have just sub contracted it to Amazon. Amazon would sell it like crazy.

LOL no I ordered it with the canadian version i'm sure. What I was implying was that they didn't discount at all for canadians. They just put it at US pricing which it should have been at first and called it a sale. This is why I hate canadian retailers. They use BS excuses to charge more.
 
so the new order has been declined too. I double checked everything before I placed this order. BB why can't I order this phone?

Edit: So I placed another order this morning with a difference CC. Used a VISA this time instead of Amex. The order hasn't been declined yet so I assume it should go through.
