blackberry 10

Not sure where you get this from, the HTC One is the nicest built Android phone around.

Personal experience had at least 2 of their older phones and my Wife has one. Its not the one but i cant stand it.

But of course its all preference. The One seems to be their flagship so Im sure its better than the unit she has.

Should have added a you're welcome. Don't know how anyone can't see bb dying a slow painful death

There is still money to be made for people who hold the shares. There is always winners and losers. But yea that magical turn around probably isn't coming.

They are losing so many customers. Our company is switching to iPhones from BB, and it's not a small company. That's thousands of phones gone from BB

IPhones are not business friendly. my colleagues who switched are all wishing they could have a Q10

Why are they not business friendly? What is it they do that no other phone does?

Security.

Pretty much this. TBH allot of companies may be going to the Iphone but they are using the BB backend for the increased security. Also because of apples app approval process its harder to get a custom app onto the device. Also no support partitioned data (between work and personal) means its harder for IT groups to lock them down without the use of third parties.

Not true. Our company tested the security of the iPhone for a long time before deciding to make the switch.

The Iphone has improved allot on its backend since 2007 when it first launched and its almost a comparable product with RIM one of the reasons RIM lost its position in the B2B space. IOS devices tho still do not compare with the level of security of the BB. Its why the US Gov especially the DOD love them so much. But there are apps and things you can do to the iphone to add these layers and i'm sure apple will continue to make strides in this area.

iPhone security.

“It’s a challenging specification and other vendors are having a tough time meeting it,” said Pollitt, whose brokerage owns shares of BlackBerry. “BlackBerry has already has got it.”

Pentagon will hook up about 80,000 BlackBerrys,
and 1,800 phones and tablets based on Apple
iOS software and Android operating system will start being hooked up to the Department of Defense’s management system at the end of this month

"The report shows that Samsung Electronics Co. (SMSN), the biggest maker of Android devices, and Apple are not making the inroads into military smartphone procurement that many expected because they can’t always meet the security specifications the Pentagon wants,"

People still talking about this?
They're selling off properties, its the end. Deal with it!

For you BB10 owners who don't follow the forums,

Instagram (Igrann) is now out for BB10. Works wonderfully.

More good news coming, new OS 10.2.1 will be out very soon. Most members have leaked versions installed on their phones, but the real deal launching shortly.

We will have the slick and secure BB platform, and piles and piles of Android apps that will run smoothly on it.

They've come a long way for a platform thats only been out for 1 year.

Latest update to the OS is out for most carriers. 10.2.1

What's the big deal?
Bug fixes, improvements, features from the legacy OS, and Android 4.2 Runtime environment.

You can now run APK's directly on the phone without converting (so your snapchat, netflix, scrabble, etc, Android apps will work out of the box, just grab the apk). Doesn't support apps that require google services to run properly.

Q10s also get FM Radio.

This is a game changer update.

As mentioned, the biggest being having the ability to run android apps now. For fun, I've installed Vine, Netflix, SnapChat, Instagram, Tapatalk, and a pile of lesser known Android apps as well. Amazing.

The FM radio is neat, it doesn't require a data connection, nor wifi, it works just like a traditional FM radio, using your headphone wire as an antenna. Works with Q10, Q5, and Z30. Z10 doesn't have the built in radio tuner, so will not support.

Host of other new features and refinements in the OS that are much appreciated as well, such as picture password, hub reconfiguration, and lots more options for various things.

This is pretty great. I often carry around my FM tuner and I'd prefer to have everything in one device. At the same time I've been reluctant to jump onto Android (Note II had an FM tuner) because there's basically no security. But on a BB phone, I'm guessing that any malicious Android code would be useless? Can anyone confirm?

The update fixed all my iPhone issues.

Every text to people who owned an iphone and had added BBM seemed to screw up. Non BBM installed iphones had no issues.

Now I wish I had the z30 for the radio

this is awesome - how do you get this?

Just tap the Music icon on your home page, then hit the radio button at the bottom.
