blackberry 10

Samsung spent $43 billion on R&D last year alone. Wow.

Apple has $140 billion in cash reserves. Worries some investors as that money is being stockpiled and not being reinvested.

Reported on Lang O'leary last night.

Only question remaining for me, is to continue with Rogers, or wait a little bit and switch to Wind Mobile ... I'm leaning towards the latter ...

Wind is a good entry level alternative, so long as you have coverage and frequent their 'Zones'.

any word on an offline GPS navigation solution for Z10/Q10 ?

I figure, if android has one, then it's not too much of a stretch to have Navigon on the BB.

Not to take away from Samsung, they surely are a powerful force. But remember the $43 bil is across everything from tv's, wind farms, chips, screens, etc. Believe me, Android will be a different beast than we see today, when Google keeps it for itself. Samsung will spend a tonne of money promoting their own OS. Good luck.

As for Apple, all that money in the bank and the best they can do is say that they introduced a high memory iPad and a plastic cheap iPhone on the way?

:laughing3:

So i'm guessing z10 will be a male dominated market

Sent from my Phone, dont judge the grammar

so my vitual keyboard has locked up and accepts no input, tried a reboot twice. no idea what to try next.

I don't know what other people are experiencing but for me this phone continues his impress me more and more every day.

You'll need to remove the battery and do a full reboot.

Its officially being rebooted out the door on Monday am, its been rebooted 6 times and unlocks for one message then freezes. BB tech says it may need replacing, could be an internal processor issue.
Given it took three days to set up company forwarding of email, contact transfer was a PITA and now it locks up on a friday and I'm with Telus corporate so no help till Monday, I'm out.
My business lives and dies by these electronic turdboxes and I dont have time to fool around.

Possible you got a lemon.. mine has been problem free. Have you installed any 3rd party apps that might be causing the problem, not limited too, but especially side loaded android apps? Anything side loaded hasn't been tested for compatibility, so while many are fine Blackberry or the hardware cannot be blamed for a bad interaction with unapproved software.. approved apps from blackberry world go through various steps of interference testing, but the apps have still been written by a 3rd party so occasionally errors can still occur. With problems like this I always recommend a full device wipe.. try to run it for a few days with NO APPS installed other then the core services that come on the device.. if the problem persists, you have a faulty device, or if you want to blame blackberry for the whole line being a mess that's your right.. but if the problem is not present, then slowly add your apps one at a time, a day or so in between.. when the problem pops up you know the last app you added is causing the problem..

Sorry to hear this. Given that BB has only been out for what, a week and half now? and is an entirely new from the ground up OS attached to a brand new from the ground up device, there is bound to be issues that will crop up. This is the nature of the beast and is typical of many new product launches from electronics, to cars, to motorcycles. Unfortunately, its the early adopters that get "punished" the most.

BB is aware and working hard, we know that there are at least 1 if not 2 updates in the pipeline in the next month or two. Most of the issues I've seen seem to be of the software related type. We also know that the Q10 will launch with OS 10.1 software.

If its any consolation, even Apple with a 6th generation iPhone and an ancient operation system still can't their system working properly when releasing an update.
