I have a google phone +3 apps. It's from 2010 and it was free with a plan. It's worked every time I have used it if it's been in range of a tower.
Had a BB years back and it jammed and rebooted at every inconvenient time so I'm not a fan. Nothing political. I have a Curve from work. I like my phone better and it's older.
Google will sell that thing just like Nintendo sold the power glove but you'll pay $1500 for it.
Compared to the technology it's washed down from that's cheap but it's a beta of easily breakable crap on hipster glass frames.
No where close to Ironman bud. Just years later trickle down tech as a fad for kids to out iPad each other with. You're not really in that demographic. Zack Morris and all.
This is how you go super sayan.
But you have to be one of the cool kids. Screech.
Touche (Screech). Well played.
Not sure if the iPad is a kiddie trend though, as it did reinvigorate the slate / tablet dream and motivate others to step forward and produce tablets that were actually productive. Almost the way the iPhone jump started the Smartphone dream 5 years after the PDA / phone combo first materialized. I referenced the 3G network as an example of a premature tech that seemed kitchy and gimmicky for some time, until some slick marketing heads at Apple capitalized and aggregated the divergent tech innovations.
Google (with Glass) has that ability to synergize and boost the current technology and I wouldn't be so quick to disparage such a device as some kiddie pissing contest.
BB should be secretly developing the same tech and try and get within 1 year of a Google release date. Samsung is also well placed with their current and future transparent and flexible screen tech. Apple might be in trouble and will have limited ability to purchase such tech if their cache keeps dropping and Samsung doesn't see an advantage in selling them the tech. As Apple potentially could lose market share Samsung might tighten the noose on proprietary tech.
BB is already too late to develop flexible or transparent screens, but they can get a jump on something like Google Glass, cause as your say, the hardware is fairly basic. As they are not a threat they may also be able to source transparent screen tech.
