Bike Stolen

The conspiracy nuts.

Exactly! I've had a guy tell me it's all a massive conspiracy to increase rates and make bigger profits for the insurance companies. I didn't mean to imply someone here suggested it...but maybe someone thought it! LoL
gotta love conspiracy theories!

Seems the only way to stop this is to be ready more than they are

Another way would be to stop buying cheap parts. Guess where they come from? If there is no market, there is no theft. Yes I am aware that some go overseas and out of province, but a lot of them end up parted out.

What area was your bike stolen from> So sorry for your loss. Bike thieves should be beaten up, and let loose so that they can be beaten up again, hangin' is too good for them.

I know way too many people who have had their bike stolen. I'm sorry to hear about this.

Whaaat? So we should just start ignoring the junk yards and buy our parts from stealerships?! Just because people like you think that all cheap parts are stolen? Good luck if you can afford to pay $600+ for a single fairing.

Reality is most people who ride know who sells hot parts, but since its their "friends" no one will say anything. for example timmay

Nobody will do anything. How many bikes have been stolen this year and how many said there was video footage?? Now not one person posted the pictures. Atleast one of the people had clear pictures of the thieves but no one has the balls to post em up.

I guarantee that we'd have the thieves identified in under 24 hours...

So step up boys and girls, or keep getting your bikes stolen.

I have exe files, and don't know how to post them to YouTube as its not an acceptable format

If someone knows how I will gladly post them.

Um. sorry. I've been riding for 42 years. I know a lot of people who are in the business, and a lot of riders.
I don't know one person who sells hot parts.
And truth be told, if I did, I would turn them in.

Reality is different in your universe. And obviously your "friends" too. Don't lump everyone into your invalid generalization.

I guess you know thieves eh?

I bet you do, just don't realize it. Some people go through life with blinders on.

Same as above

Same as above. And ive met plenty over my riding career. Go to a random meet, start talking to people and just look around. Several times ive met people at gtam meets that bragged about all sorts of things. Been offered 2 year old "track" bikes at 10-20% of their original cost, of course no ownership or blank frame. Put 2 and 2 together.
Go to a meet, grab a coffee, shut your mouth and just listen. You'd be amazed at what you hear.

I've even had one of the guys who got busted last year in the theft ring come out and check out my bike i had for sale hahah
He calls me and tells me he wants to check out my bike and where i live. I tell him street x and y in whatever city call me when you're there and ill tell you exactly. He calls me up and im sitting at the tim hortons with my buddy and tell him im right there. From the moment we started talking i sensed that he was up to no good, same with my friend. Started asking if i live near by etc... Had i invited to meet him at home im sure my bike would have been gone. He even bragged that he had "hook ups" and can get anything he wants from anyone's driveway.

Also for those of you who've been living under a rock there are bike shops and mechanics involved in all of this, so be careful where you go.

Hard to believe? I guess just as hard as the guy who organized the meets was a thief hahaha. Why go out and shop for bikes, get them to come to you. Sometimes life is stranger than fiction, but people are just too naive.

I said it before and ill say it again. 1/3 of the population is honest, but 2/3 aren't. That's the world we live in and that's why this thread will get very little response but a boston pizza thread will go on for years.

Is this still occurring? If so I think you should be telling us who this is so we can avoid them.

a search on this board should turn up your answer.

Paul1000RR sounds like he himself lives his life on the opposite side of the law more than we do.

Thanks for taking the time to provide the link.
Why do we have to search for this individually? It's almost like saying it's our fault for not knowing about something that is so buried.
What about us new people? How would we know about this and protect ourselves until it's too late?

What is going on here that everyone seems hush about?
