Bike Stolen

Last edited:
Wow. Sorry for your loss. Reading this made me feel sick. I have the same bike that i am trying to sell .. i keep it in my locked garage and i have both wheels chained down. what did the police say? is the license plate visible in the video?

Plates will be stolen. How many times do we have to go through this? lol! Cameras in Condo parks dont prevent anything.

I check the forums every now and then on my phone but, I haven't been able to find a good forum app for my phone. Something like the twitter apps that auto sign in. Typing passwords suck without a proper keyboard.

Get TapaTalk. its great on iOS or Android. No one makes apps for BB/RIM so cant help you with that..

WTF??? R u serious?? That totally sucks. Sorry for your loss. Good thing you had theft insurance.
Something has to be done about this. Every week I hear of peoples bikes getting jacked from their condo garage.
Somebody should set up a sting and catch this **********.

As for your next bike, I recall you liked the S1000rr. If your not in a hurry, that HP4 is one sexy machine.
Just make sure you play the lottery ;)

Sorry to hear about your loss....if it makes you feel better...Then let's get storage and store our bikes in it together....

I really do not know why people do not get storage places and store their bikes....I'm in the same boat and only f'ing reason I don't own a bike is cause some one will steal it....

OP sorry for your loss. However now when you can get the max amount from insurance (hooray for theft insurance) enjoy shopping for a new ride. Don't matter where you park, how you protect it...they want it...they'll get it.

we can ***** and whine and cry foul all we want but until we as a group actually DO SOMETHING about this problem then this will continue to happen. There's way smarter folks who know the solution to this problem. And we need to find it, or we play the victim and let the bad guys win.

Nobody will do anything. How many bikes have been stolen this year and how many said there was video footage?? Now not one person posted the pictures. Atleast one of the people had clear pictures of the thieves but no one has the balls to post em up.

I guarantee that we'd have the thieves identified in under 24 hours...

So step up boys and girls, or keep getting your bikes stolen.

That's like saying we are all going to die, so im gonna go run across the highway.

Everyone knows that bikes keep getting stolen in condos, so stop parking them in condos lol

Seems the only way to stop this is to be ready more than they are

If it was only condos it would be so simple....but each day I park my bike for the night, or at work I expect it to get stolen. Then I'm pleasantly surprised when its still there. Mind you I dunno how wanted it is by thieves. I have insurance and by god I will use it when it gets stolen and shop for a new one.

Im sure someone here has some genius in em and all you need is a trip to dragons den to make it a reality!

And yes we're all gonna die eventually...that's why we have bikes...so we can have fun in the life we have!

Ive got some bad news for you guys, if everyones 10,000 dollar bike gets stolen 3 times per year in a couple years no one will be able to afford insurance lol

Even then theft would only account for 8% of the loses compared against the 80% due to medical scams. Theft not likely to affect your rate ;)

Let me address that post that thinks 8% is meaningless.
My Insurance Agent has been int he business for 25 years.
Your company will drop you because by this point they think you are making money from this and is defrauding them.
So, they drop you now what.
You go to insurance company #2 and they ask you what happened to old insurance coverage (they can find out).
Uhm, well you see I had 3 bikes stolen in 2 years.
Ok, we will insure you for a low rate of $12k-$15k per year.

Do you have any idea how much 8% means to the bottom line of any company?

Im sure that there are some people out there who think that this is all a big conspiracy where the insurance companies are funding the thieves! LoL I'm not one of them though.

i haven't read the whole 'lets do something about this ourselves' but has anything good been out forward? Or just thoughts and frustrations. There's a solution....it ain't gonna be cheap and it ain't gonna be easy. It can't be something that's difficult to implement in a condo parking (damn you condo board) and it needs to be full proof. The only way is to make it so unattractive to the thiefs that bikes won't be lucrative to the thieves. But this involves the law....

border patrols need to be stepped up...sorry no money
tougher legislation to put these guys away for longer periods...minor crime no money for prosecution
more cops to investigate...no money for resources as its not a major crime (except to those that have their property stolen)

i know I sound negative but like I said if we don't help ourselves some of us will continue getting their bikes stolen and I don't believe in giving up a hobby/passion because of some sob's.

anyway op I'm sorry for moving your thread off topic.
