Most people assume that you can't make your payments and it's getting repo'd, or they're too focused on their own stuff to even care.

My friends car was stolen with a tow truck, neighbour saw the whole thing, just thought he missed a few payments. Tow truck was stolen too. Can't underestimate thieves.
 
wow, what a nice bike!!! sorry for your loss. did you have a look at the security footage? what kinda van was involved?

Likely not, but a bike sitting in broad daylight will attract only the most brazen of thief's

Exact same thing happened to my car! Towed away with a stolen tow truck. Right in front of two security guards! When I found out I asked them "Thought they were doin a repo" lol.

Sorry for your lost as an MV F4 owner myself I can only imagine how you feel. I would recommend posting this in the mvagusta.net also. This sucks will keep my eye out for the bike. Check the usual spots Ebay/ Kijji.
 
Unless you're going to go up to a tow truck driver and ask for papers (which they can refuse) theres no real way of telling if its a thief driving it or someone that actually works for a tow truck company... You can call the cops but by the time they get there, the driver will be long gone.

That aside, that SUCKS that your brand new bike was taken... Hope insurance treats you well...

I find that comment stranger than the fact that people are suprised it happened, since no matter how good they treat you you'll be out of $$$ regardless
 
Wow, everybody always wants a beautiful rare bike. But right here is a reason to stay with middle of the road bike.
If I EVER get a really rare bike, I will not take my eyes off of it.
Or park it in the house.
 
Sorry for the loss :( . . . my rage towards thieves has gone up another point. Cops wont be doing much. hope the insurance is fair on you.
 
Good score for the scumbags who stole this, sorry for your loss op. Although it is hard to see an MV Agusta F4 parked all by itself and not try to steal it ;)
 
the bike being as unique as it is, hopefully the thieves won't be able to off-load it, or be stupid enough to ride it and you'll get it back. hopefully. but don't hold your breath.

Thanks for the support. Talking to security yesterday, it was around 4 pm. was only a 6 hour window where my car wasnt blocking it in and they found it. Loaded into a van (astro/safari type). Ill find out today if they get a better look at the plates like they are trying to find. I know its probably in a crate by now, but if I can get them off the streets its a start.

I hope insurance doesn't try to rip me off.. I've heard good things of State Farm in these situations though.

I've also contacted the service dealer here who contacted MV Canada. They should put a note on the VIN so if it gets serviced/warrantee work anywhere in the world (in theory...) it should get flagged by them.

now im not buying a ducati...well actually there is a panigale and some other 1199s in my building...so maybe an 848 will go unnoticed lol

Lol, same theory as Zombie safety. You don't need to be the fastest, just faster than one guy.
